Spelled NC Stall wrong, but congrats to the Wrestling team! Here's to hoping for 5+ AA titles this year.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

I am hopeful of a 3rd-5th place finish, with a waaaaaay longshot at 2nd.

They are #2 and #4 in team rankings. Looks like Iowa struggled at their conference championship with four guys in 5th place which means they needed at large bids. Not sure how many they got in overall.

Iowa St won the Big XII and has nine qualified for the NCAAs

Mekhi is the #1 seed, but they gave Starocci the.... #9 seed. That is some major BS and simply unfair to Mekhi to have to face him in the quarterfinals.

I also disagree with Arrington being seeded above Henson. No way should that questionable takedown in OT have caused him to drop. His overall body or work was much stronger.

Agree. Absolute nonsense!

It almost seems like a mistake or some criteria I am not aware of.

Carter Starocci has won the last 3 national championships, and had won 63 straight matches until having to MEDICALLY forfeit 2 matches in order to qualify. I could understand Mekhi getting the 1 seed, but no way in the world should Starocci have dropped any lower than the 2 seed.

EDIT: This article goes into the selection criteria. Basically the 2 MFF by Starocci counted as actual losses and because they were to the 2 lowest ranked wrestlers in the conference it really impacted his seed. I would guess we see that matrix calculation change next year

Maybe starocci thinks it's totally unfair that he has to face Mekhi in the quarterfinals?

Mekhi will be fresher than Starocci
