I was just thinking the same thing. It's too bad they only post the top 5 for type of exercise. I always think it's interesting not only who the strongest/fastest on the team are, but for each group (rb, wr, qb, etc.).

Ahh yes - good call. I forgot about Knowles. I'll be interested to see this list compared to a later testing date once we have all of the speedsters in town.

I may be wrong, but I'm gonna guess a couple of reasons.
One, the numbers for Nicholas & McKinnon might not be exactly correct (note that they are only in tenths of a second vs hundredths). I just do not believe that Dadi Nicholas is faster that 90% of the WRs and CBs at this year's NFL combine.
Second, the other 40 times listed seem closer to realistic this year. So perhaps the other skill guys are getting timed at more realistic 4.5-4.6+ this year rather than 4.4-4.5+ this year. Contrary to the hype, real sub 4.5 times are the exception rather than the rule for college players at skill positions.

highly doubt VT deviated from its tried true methodology here...
fast surface hand timing means times are faster (than other surfaces, other timing methodologies), but not in relation to prior years...
this team is just slower than prior years... or we just don't have amazing burners like we used to... or maybe guys had conflicts and couldn't make it
when we had a few key injuries on special teams, I think the lack of team speed really showed up... any team with a threat was a threat to house us every return
did everyone participate? I kinda hope not.... wanted to see a couple more faces in the top 5s that were not there.

How about this instead? Hand-time everyone through a mud slick and then all our players look slow on paper. Then, BAM, Dadi hits the QB 0.001 seconds after the snap, not expecting him to be that fast.

Kyle Fuller ran 4.35 two years ago. Antone Exum was 4.39. James Gayle was 4.44. We all know those numbers are .15 or so too fast. So -- less team speed or not (which is arguable) -- I'm not buying that Kendall Fuller is really a 4.6 and is that much slower than his brother and Exum -- or, especially, James Gayle. Or that Chris Mangus is really a 4.6 and is only .01 faster than James Gayle? No way, no how. The numbers are different this year.

This kid has explosiveness - 2nd in the 40 yard, and 1st in the 10 yard. Will look foward to see him in the spring game to see if his numbers translate to the field.

So the question that is clearly on everyone's mind. I'll say it if no one else will.
I'm expecting big things out of Colton Taylor, mostly because I've heard of him before.
He is clearly a person on the football team, and I expect that his footballing will continue to contribute to the success of the team.
I've heard he really gets after ya and brings his lunch pail to work every day.
Even more importantly, I knew before now that he was on the team, and that he has a long history of being.
I'm sure we're all looking forward to the success he will bring us with his position-record vertical jump.
Thanks, Colton. Long snap away!

I did a double take when I noticed that Augie Conte broke the Offensive Tackle Power Clean record, but Wyatt Teller lifted more. I guess its where he's listed as a generic Offensive Lineman, but most of us are expecting him to play Tackle.

I am encouraged by Marshall's numbers.
To me, doing that well may be an indicator he's gotten focus and can put last year's stumbles behind him. Good to see a talented young man move to take advantage of opportunities.

So what you're telling me is that Wyatt Teller is a beast and Dadi should be our punt returner?
How do we not have a WR, QB, or RB that is faster than our DE?
Props for us for having a fast DE though!
I think that's part of the reason VT is expecting some of these freshman WRs to contribute this year.
Although I thought Knowles would have put up a 40 time that would be among the best on the team.

I've seen Knowles run...He's fast enough...can't wait to see stroman and ford...those guys are some burners

Add McKinnon to the defensive sleeper candidates list, too. The kid is fast and strong as hell. I read he benched 365lbs last year.

I think I was the only one to mention him on the other thread.
Have a leg, because great minds and all that.

Many scouts feel that how high a long snapper jumps immediately after snapping the ball is a sign of future success.
This long snapper can jump:

I find it hard to believe that Sam Rodgers didnt max out all strength tests. I demand a redo.
He held back to keep the other players from getting discouraged.
The numbers for Sam Rogers are actually the weights in the weight room that he didn't lift during each test.
RB J.C. Coleman - 455*
FB Sam Rogers - 410
Obviously a math problem. Sam Rogers 455 * 410 = 186,550 lbs.
Hmmmm....Dadi returning kickoffs....
That gif is absolutely disgusting.
