Hell yes!!! Wife and I were jumping up and down watching the Hitman do his thing. So smart to go along with awesome strength!!! His fellow Tech teammates greeting him and picking him up on their shoulders. No other team has done that for their own. Gotta love it! Played it back 5 times already.

Virginia Tech's Caleb Henson is an NCAA wrestling national champion! And he dropped an F-bomb in the ESPN post-match interview. π€ΌββοΈπ pic.twitter.com/gbHN4pc102β Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) March 24, 2024

FAM! Wrestling is a force to be reckoned with. We're near the top, but getting to the summit is going to be a major challenge. Congrats to Caleb and his fucking guys!

Let's just concede that PSU is on a different mountain. Then I would agree with you.
The Hokies finished 7th this year, 8.5 points out of 2nd place. PSU then finished a mind boggling 100 points ahead of second place with 172.5 points. Their dominance is on another level.
We were super close this year.... Bryce was winning in the semis with 30 seconds left, he lost that and went on to finish 6th. That win would have put him 2nd at worst, a difference of 9 points. That one match alone takes the Hokies from 7th to a program best 2nd. Shows how close we really are to the top of the non-PSU mountain.

Penn State clinched the National Championship before the final day of competition even began. The gap between them and everyone else is enormous. We might have a Top 10 program but we aren't remotely close to challenging for a team Natty.

True but four of their ten are done, including two of their four champions and one runner up. They obviously reload well but guess we will see. Hokies are in a similar boat next year on needing to reload.
Biggest differences I saw between them was
1. Ability to escape after takedown/starting bottom
2. Details on using their warnings effectively/knowing when to employ NC Stall tactics to secure wins.
If Hokies had done #2 even half of their losses, they turn into wins and Hokies finish 2nd. I know it's not fun to take that tactic as anti-competitive it is but unfortunately it works. It's like basketball where teams look to extend possessions to end of shot clock to shorten the game.

Watching the other matches, Caleb has been by far the most aggressive and exciting wrestler. He wasn't just going to a point or 2 and poking around for a victory. He took it to his opponent and established himself as the better wrestler

One of the most focused and determined athletes you'll find. He knew he wasn't losing tonight. Can just see it in the way he attacked. #Hokiespic.twitter.com/GlVa5RirPoβ Jack Brizendine (@JackPBrizendine) March 24, 2024

The defense turning into offense right here is crazy. Fends off a nice shot from Gomez and then attacks in a flash. Lethal. #Hokiespic.twitter.com/CMGqodHGkYβ Jack Brizendine (@JackPBrizendine) March 24, 2024

Fair enough. This year, PSU was a different mountain.
Let's not sugarcoat it

He's got that dawg in him
That was awesome. Congrats to Caleb and here's to a few more while he's here.
Caleb scored 13 points in the 1st period alone (3 minutes).
More than loluva basketball?
