No offense to him, but after watching him in limited time this year, what other P5 school did he think would come after him? Glad we are retaining some depth but man, what a weird time we are in.

I've always loved the banter and back and forth on TKP, and I bet I catch crap for this post, but I don't like this.

Largely agree with you..Wessler is a guy that wants to be here and that is something we should embrace.
I think the wittiness is coming from fans who are already exhausted by this process. Since the NIL and Transfer Vacuum era started, we've spent alot of time deliberating whats best for the players, the coaches, and, most importantly, TV revenue but one group has really not been considered at all---the fans.
Ultimately the reason that any of this exists and is profitable is because of the fans and we're getting a product that is increasingly costly to follow (streaming exclusives, ticket prices), frustrating if not impossible to keep up with due to constant turnover of both players and conferences, comically unbalanced, and truly farcical at times (see: Protor, Kadyn). On top of that, the expectation is that we are now going to have to subsidize our chosen Ath. Dept. thru NIL or fade into obscurity.
The college sports product has gotten demonstrably worse for fans and I think some of the response to Wessler (thru no fault of his own) is a byproduct of that. And my experience with fanbases of other schools, living in the midst of Gator fans, is that feelings are very similar.

With the attrition we've had this offseason, any player coming back is great news for me.
But you have to be fair, he scored 12 points all season. I'm sure even his buddies have given him a little crap for his "I'm coming back" announcement.
I like big Pat! I'm glad he's coming back. He's a pretty cool/funny guy from what I gather. I just hope they can get those cinder blocks out of his shoes before next season!
