CMD seems to be doing pretty good at filling out the coaching staff. I know nothing about BBall coaching or coaches but they all seem to be good hires and not what we could afford hires. Can't wait to see what the team looks like on the floor next season.

Having head coaches as assistant coaches is money. A lot of good experience on this staff.

Signs say that Whit is still pretty supportive of having a competitive women's basketball program.

he was willing to match salaries for Kenny but just just couldn't match the total package.

Building a stadium just for women's bball is a bit much to keep a coach

EDIT: building a different sport a stadium so that women's bbal has their own is a bit much to keep a coach.

Not really. From what I understand what is going at UK is effectively like if we built a new arena for just the men, and then told the women's program that the Cassell is now all yours.

Kentucky didn't build the other arena. The county built it and benefits from concerts and other shows in addition to Kentucky men's basketball but they have the population density to support it.

The bigger difference is Tech couldn't commit to going forward with the already approved renovations to Cassell. The original estimate on that project was $75M pre-Covid so it's expected that project would be north of $100M now.
