Updated with McMillan being honored as Softball America's Player of the Month as she set the Hokies new program record of 20 homeruns in a season.
Is that a national award? Can we retire her jersey? /s
Can we PLEASE have a good week on the diamond for the men? Something like less than a 50% k rate at the plate, and a bullpen that doesn't implode?
Should be considering the teams they face but unfortunately never know with these guys

Renfrow struggled early in 1st and needed 30 pitches to escape early jam. They are playing Star Wars scenes between innings on the speaker system.

Renfrow did the opposite Jam in second. Getting two quick Ks before allowing two runners.

Hokies bat around in bottom 2nd. Got first four on and scored all of them. Watson tacked on a 2 out triple to score another.
5-0 Hokies lead
Renfrow puts the Bobcats down in order in the 3rd. Gehrig Ebal with a Sportscenter worthy sliding catch in foul ground.
Hokies threaten in the bottom but are unable to score.

Renfrow again puts them down quickly and has six strikeouts so far through 4.
Ebel follows his Sportscenter catch by leading off the 4th with a 379 foot homerun on the first pitch.

Jacob Stretch gave the Hokies 3 1/3 scoreless innings to settle things down.
Watson now leads the ACC in batting average at .420. Just killing it.
Baseball goes 4-0 on the week. Outscores opponents 50-5. Hopefully this gives them momentum to close out the ACC schedule strong with series against Miami and Syracuse coming up.
We needed that. I know the opponent wasn't exactly at the level of competitiveness we've seen or will continue to see, but to get the bats going and re-build some of the bullpen confidence for the final stretch is big for us.
