The 5-9 PG comes to Tech from Boone, NC where she averaged 30.6 ppg, 11 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game during her junior campaign's playoffs.

I will choose to be excited about this news.

The news of the death of the women's basketball team seems like it may have been premature.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Was really hoping this was a lineman lol

Regardless, welcome home!

She's way too small for OL. Especially since Newsome isn't our OL coach anymore.

We put the K in Kwality

Love the commit video. She plays tough through contact on drives to the rim. Be nice to have a team that can play physical instead getting bullied.

turns out there is no softer side to sears

Great. Another earworm to contend with. Thanks for nuthin.

Now we just need a Center named Roebuck for the combo.

Sears and Roebuck is/was a nationwide department store chain that peaked in the 80s as the largest retailer in the United States, but filed for bankruptcy in 2019, though some stores remain open.

They're also known for the Craftsman line of tools.

Amazon killed them and the great american shopping mall for the most part.

Sears could've and should've beaten Amazon to the punch- failure of vision as they had the pieces already in place with their catalog distribution centers.

They did. What they didn't have was free shipping and dirt cheap chinese goods/prices

With the network of retail stores, they could've worked out the free delivery pretty easily I think

From the 2018 VT-uva game-"This is when LEGENDS are made!"

If they could have kept selling Heroin and Cocaine through the catalog, the business would have been unstoppable.

So what you're saying is Sears is going to deliver for Tech

this right here is how you pull a thread back to what really matters: puns

Any correlation between how well Sears (retail) has been turning out the lights and Sears (female) shooting out the lights?

No.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Hopefully a negative correlation, considering the Sears in Fredericksburg closed a few years ago.

That's the joke. Sears was good at having the lights go out. So I hope she's equally as good at shooting the lights out.

"Come see the softer side of Sears" was the jingle for a tv campaign to sell linens and towels and such as that, IIRC. Trying to appeal to the one stop shopper, I guess, trying to promote more than appliances and tools.

Added: The Sears annual catalog was a staple of most homes. It was huge and many, like my mom, called it a "wish book". In country lore, and in actuality, the Sears catalog provided hundreds of pages of thin paper favored by the outhouse folk when toilet paper wasn't handy. I've been in outhouses with partially used Sears catalogs still in there beside the lime bucket.

The fall catalog had my sisters and I circling things we wanted for Christmas. Pretty sure you could mail order a house in the "early" editions.

Pretty sure you could mail order a house in the "early" editions.

I think there are actually still a couple of those in my area in East Dallas, late 20's or early 30's I think. Of course most of the older houses are getting torn down to build out max lot line houses that sell for 2+ million, which is a shame.

Good friend and bandmate lived in one in Blacksburg near campus. Called Craftsman houses, they were around and some likely still are.

Called Craftsman houses

So does that work like Craftsman TOOLS? Guaranteed for life -if it breaks it's replaced for free? /s

From the 2018 VT-uva game-"This is when LEGENDS are made!"

Lowes carries craftsman now, and IIRC there is still a lifetime gaurentee on "hand tools"- brilliant because how often does a monkey wrench disintegrate in your hand? How often does 1/4 inch steel ratchet break apart? never

Yeah- my ex's grandfather gave us an axe from the 1930s and it broke(handle snapped near the axe head) in the '90s;we just went to Sears with the broken one and walked out with a brand new one.

(Of course I was making a sarcastic joke about the Craftsman HOMES having that type of replacement guarantee lol)

From the 2018 VT-uva game-"This is when LEGENDS are made!"

The springs go out in the ratchets.
The blades strip on screwdrivers.
sockets strip, especially in the 12 pt sockets.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

There are 4 in a row on 3rd Ave in Richmond. I bought a kit home the next block down built in 1920.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

A relative in upstate NY had a Sears-sourced house.. Wasn't terrible.

Her video is really good I think. The time lapse from early childhood to present day was a nice touch.

And any video that ends with Enter Sandman is good with me! Also loved CMD's momentary confusion when Kate walk in her office.

Probably more the videographer behind her, but either way it was fun to watch.

Love those lefties!

I hate rude behavior in a man. Won't tolerate it.

one click shows Wagoneer's been around TKP for 7 years. Sheesh. Everyone take a nap, have a snickers or something.

Now I am wondering how that compares to Georgia's numbers coming out of high school...

Australia is more like Europe in how they organize youth basketball. They are club focused in a quasi pro environment. Georgia the year before Tech played for the Ballarat Rush of the NBL1 in the 2019 season and averaged 11.2 points, 3.2 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.

Is that high school in Boone NC only, or does that include Team Curry numbers? I think the AAU numbers would be a better indicator, as it would be against much better competition. Any idea what those look like.

That's just HS. Will look to see if I can find Team Curry stats.

So similar to Georgia, with approximately 15, 3, and 3.

Side note, it appears she gets to the free throw line with some regularity, while not fouling much herself.
