Planning on going to the game in Nashville.
Single game tickets aren't on sale yet. I'm slightly considering buying a pair of season tickets $480 all in and selling the rest, but not sure if I want to go through the hassle.
My dad did a similar thing when Tech joined the ACC with Duke.
Vandy has a heck of a home slate, including Bama, Texas, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
Anyone else planning on going to the game and have similar thoughts or done something similar and came out way ahead, struggled to break even, or behind?

Did it for ODU the first time we played there cause it was cheaper than individual tix for the VT game. Could have tried selling the tix for the other games but didn't bother cause it was ODU. But yes if those are the "other games for Vanderbilt home games, you could likely sell them and break even or better.
$480.00 for SEC Season Tickets.... Quadruple that for VT- who is perennially "poor", can only go all in in football, can't pay Kenny Brooks. Love it.
Big difference here. I don't think Vandy ever sells out.
Yeah I'm wondering if Texas(first year in SEC) etc can drive up demand for those few games that makes it worth trying to flip it.
Wish I knew what the single game cost for VT will be.
Right- theres two mid P5 programs season tix being different due to fan interests, then there is the difference between VT and Vandy season tix.
What is your solution to this conundrum?
Hire JMU's AD. They are in the post season in every sport. That's what fans care about- winning... not regular season hoops games on Tuesdays. March Madness. The baseball post season. etc. So when we panhandle, at least our fans are cheering for post season tournaments as opposed to a Wednesday night baseball game against Liberty. If that is a pipe dream, maybe consider a different approach to fund raising.
JMUs AD just retired this spring
Ah, so he is available, we can get him!
(joking around, if not obvious)
so $240 for s single ticket? I would ask how far up, but Vandy is basically a high school stadium.
I went to Vandy - UF to see Tim Tebow, Heisman award winner Tim Tebow. I walked right in paid like $10 for scalped tickets and sat pretty much where we wanted to cause the stadium was like 50% full.
I dont know if you can make your money back unless UT plays at Vandy. No one else cares. There weren't enough people to fill a small stadium to see one of the greatest college players. In addition, Percy Harvin, Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Spikes, Joe Haden, Carlos Dunlap. That team was stacked. No one in Nashville cared.
Thank you for the background. Gonna buy single game tickets.
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't staring at an opportunity to cover the Tech tickets and my drinks for the weekendwith a little effort.
Yeah, I would do that.
Why throw good money after bad?
You might get your drinks paid for, the guys behind us some how brought in multiple handles of liquor, they were mixing drinks in the stands. It was about 6 guys and like 7 bottles of stuff. I'd never seen anyone sneak in a handle before or since and these guys did 7 of them.
I'm banking on the ability to buy them a few days prior or day of when I get there.
Safe bet.
