It would have been 5 ACC teams if Clemson hadn't gacked against Florida in the Supers. I guess Clemsoning is still a thing.
Yeah couldn't believe they blew it in extras
How does the seeding work after the super regionals? Is this pre-determined with no re-seeding? Or it it however the hell the NCAA, ESPN, and the Mouse wants it to be?
All pre-seeded, so if it was chalk it would be #1 v #8, #2 v #7, #3 v #6, and #4 v #5.
Everyone - many hokies fans- mocked Florida getting in the tourney.. well. lol. And go tar heels- the only time you will ever hear me say that
I merely say that it rankles my old Hokie ass that UVA is so freakin' good. Money bought that program, and I just hate it. Let them have field hockey or lacrosse, even soccer, but dammit, we should be dominant in football, competetive in basketball, and at least competetive in baseball. Not neglecting the women bballers or the softballers who have kept us nibbling at their toes. Hope they lose every game, in either blowout or heartbreaking walk off loss. Not like I care or anything.
I'm not saying that I like it, but welcome to America. Money doesn't guarantee success, but success requires money.
Also, It's currently 1:02pm and UVA still sucks.
John Grisham and Les Disharoon were the biggest impetus. Both lived in the area, absolutely loved baseball, and both were loaded. I knew Les a little through fishing contacts and he was a nice fellow who also loved UVA. Grisham in particular donated money locally to improve ball parks in the area and showed interest in local talent. When they got together, they took a moribund, nearly defunct in fact, program and threw the money at the right places and people to make them almost instantly relevant.
Damn them guys!!
Yet another reason Dean Koontz >>> John Grisham.
So, if we ever do make it to Omaha sometime; whoever the coach is at the time needs to show the team the FSU vs Tennessee game from last night and explain that's exactly how you choke and lose a game you should have never lost.
That was an epic meltdown on the part of FSU
UVa is an embarrassment to the world of college sports
If it was Zima and brie they would overwhelming win that challenge.
That's almost $72.5k on jello shots 😳
There's a link to the challenge on the On3 website and it's updated daily. I believe it's about double the amount in the above screenshot now.
All the fans of the losing teams drowning their sorrows
And yet again, the boo 'hoos are the first team out in Omaha. Yeah, they did get there, but for the second year in a row, they make a quick and totally unimpressive exit.
I'd really rejoice on this more but of course they won the fucking championship a few years ago. Because of course UVA did.
you're doing it wrong then.
Texas A & Ms pitching coach's name is...
Wait for it.....
Max Weiner
"It's pronounced V-eye-nahr" - Max probably
Either that or he swells his chest and winks when he introduces himself......
But that name can be used good and bad. For instance, the difference between say he has and he takes, throws and pulls, gobbles, etc,
Texas A&M baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle takes Texas job day after MCWS loss, adamant vow to 'never' leave
He's also taking the entire coaching staff with him, and 5 players entered the portal right after he announced (assuming they are going to transfer to UT).
This has been the story of the week down here in Texas. Aggie fans are understandably PISSED.
Another one entered this morning. Think it's now seven and read it could get to as high as fifteen.
This is the world we live in now with unrestricted transfers. He was trying to say that this decision was not made before the CWS but everyone pretty much calling bullshit on that as they should. Fans of course now coming out and questioning his decisions in game 3 saying he threw the game.
Lying piece of shit. Chasing dollars like everyone in unicorn college sports land.
Part of me can't wait until we all get so disenfranchised with the bullshit that we quit caring and the bottom falls out. All this money and shit stirring under the guise of entertainment. At some point the majority would have to throttle back interest, right? I know that I don't care near as much as I used to, but I'm old. I love VT, I love watching sports, but when sports become a cutthroat business like the rest of life that has little to nothing to do with the university I love other than capital calls and constant disappointment, I'll choose to place my cares elsewhere.
Agreed 100% but the NBA's ratings are at all time lows everywhere and they are on the cusps of signing a gazillion dollar TV deal. Everyone saying the bubble will burst on the SEC and B1G- no chance- their next TV deals will be double this one. There is an unlimited amount of TV money it seems- unlimited. These contracts are getting much much bigger- not smaller. (Except the ACC of course) at any rate, the ONLY reason to lie, abandon your players, screw your school over royally for a lateral job is money. Period, end. Money. Is the case with this scum aTm coach and it was the case with Kenny Brooks- lateral move- 100% about the money. Every last dime.
You know, I get that though. The leaving for money I mean. What I don't get is the bullshit. Just say you're leaving for money. When someone in the business world gets and offer from a competitor that's 50% higher than what they're making, you don't have to lie about it. Just say what we all know. It must be the money. Own it and stop feeding us bullshit.
