Which of you TKPers will be heading to Nashville next weekend for the Vanderbilt game? I've been to Nashvegas before, so I am familiar with navigating that scene. However, I have never been to or near Vanderbilt's campus, so I have no idea what to expect in terms of parking, tailgating, and general gameday experience. Any recommendations/things to watch out for?

I won't be in Nashburg except in spirit.
Whereabouts should we look for it?
Every bar. Just ask for their best spirits.
The Nashville Hokie Club is doing a tailgate. I think we're going to go by there for a bit if we're not hurting too bad from Friday night.
Middle Tennessee/Nashville Hokies Tailgate Info
UPDATE: just talked to the Holiday Inn where the alumni tailgate will be at. They have a gameday parking option at the hotel for $50 (cash/day of). Can get there as early as 8am, and you'll be able to do the tailgate and walk across the street to the game. Since the alumni tailgate is catered, there is no outside food allowed, but the guy said "You can bring everything else you need to 'Have a good time'"
Thanks for sharing.
This is where I drank when I went, it's right next to the stadium.
Long time lurker so don't post much, but driving over from Memphis for the game and I am excited. It has been a long time since I've been to one. For the most part it feels like stuff around the campus kind of sucks, but I'm hoping to either find others to tailgate with or a pub to watch Premier League.
I will be there, Music Row is over by campus, but it will be better after the game than before. I will be in an AirBnb with the boys and we have decided the 11am kickoff is too early for tailgating, we will have our pre-game at the rental.
Too early for tailgating? Perish the thought. I managed at the 11AM game at Lane in recent past- just arrived about 630-7!
We will still get after it, just not going to pack a whole tailgates worth of stuff to have shove it all back in the truck at 10A.
Oh damn, it had not occurred to me that Nashville is an hour behind. Bourbon for breakfast it is!
It's NOON eastern kickoff- 11am Nashville time (to clarify for all)
Friend and I will roll into Nashville about 6-7am Saturday morning. Message me at Skippy1231 (at) verizon(dot)net and I'll give cell # to text and maybe catch up with y'all there!
APFOW Sr. and I will be there.
I'll be there with a crew. Will arrive Friday night and staying outside of town at a friend's house. No idea for gameday plans. Would be nice to have a morning beer or 12 with some fellow Hokies.
FYI Vandy has parking for sale on their athletics website ($25) but its in a garage so no tailgating.
However, if you call the ticket office you can get a $40 parking pass in a surface lot (Lot 4) that you can tailgate in.
I'll be there with friends and family but we decided to forego on-campus and just tailgate at my brother in laws house instead.
I'll be there with my wife. Probably wearing my horse on a treadmill shirt sometime next weekend.
I'll be there! Going to kayne prime Friday night and Saturday morning going to Nashville grange
Can't make it, but it looks like it'll be hot, hot hot. Stay cool y'all.
As an Appalachian State University student in the early 2000s, I am triggered by the phrase "hot, hot, hot"
Even when the weather is cold cold cold?
We just need to let him show us what he's got
Appalachian is HOT! HOT! HOT!
Looks like it might reach 100 (or close to it) by the second half with high humidity. It'll be hard on the spectators and even harder on the players. Depth will be key. And hopefully the VT sideline will have those cooling fans running on high. We don't want heat stroke in the stands or on the field.
Where do you see 100? I'm seeing 91 with chance of thunderstorms.
same as I see
Saturday 08/31 precip-63% / 0.19 in
Isolated thunderstorms in the morning becoming more widespread in the afternoon. High 91F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
PLEASE no repeat of Purdue game weather delay!
I go to accuweather.
And I see it went down from when I checked and posted. It had at 98, with "Real Feel" above 100. Humidity is now lower too, was closer to 80% and now below 70%. And notably, the afternoon temperature is now projected to be lower than the morning temperature with an increase in likelihood of rain.
I guess this will be one everyone will want to watch as the week progresses to pack and plan accordingly, especially if storms become an issue.
I'll just do what I did for the Purdue game and the military bowl- have a complete change of clothes in the car and NOT CARE how wet I get at the game or tailgating.
At least this time there is downtown Nashville to fall back on.
Yeah-couple girls I know from club I go dancing at- and who used to live in Nashville-are giving me suggestions both on and off Broadway...
Wife and I will be there Thursday thru Sunday
Me, MrsO, and our three teen girls will all be there Saturday. Hoping for good weather since teen girls don't love standing in the rain watching football like their parents do!
Be there Friday and Saturday with a stop at Jack Daniels Distillery on Sunday's return trip. Probably celebrating post game at Bringles BBQ joint on the West End.
I approve of this!
For the beer nerds on here that aren't too superstitious to try one while in Nashville:
I see this as the chance to drink the blood of the enemy! hear the lamentations of their women! and what not.
I'll be there with 2 other Hokies. Let's go!!!
Heading up Friday and back Monday.
Just saw an article about the premium seating options being added to FirstBank at Vandy on the Vandy Hustler from a while ago. Couple of notes - It looks like it will be nicer than the UNC addition. They do not appear to think it will sell out based on the rendering, which shows more empty seats than full in the addition, people sitting and largely paying little attention to the game going on, and lots of empty seats in the stadium.
Sadly, I am not in Nashville this weekend, but just saw where Uber and Lyft drivers in Nashville might strike this weekend. Plan accordingly and good luck to all the Hokie travelers out there!
545am-the tailgate begins and fittingly enough-Roadhouse Blues came on the radio! Woke up this morning and got myself a beer (except we drove straight through from 830 pm last night). We are top inside of Kensington garage.
Reminder . Message me at Skippy1231 (at) verizon(dot)net and I'll give cell # to text and maybe catch up with y'all there!.
Ps finished first beer before 6am!
Hell yes, enjoy the day!
Now I need to revisit an AMA, are you planning to sneak in PB sandwiches for a game time snack?
No but I will eat some before we walk to the stadium which is MAYBE 400 yards from the deck we are in (and starting beer 6 at 738-and I'm up 4 games to 1 in drinking backgammon); anyone still welcome to join us up here!
mmmmm!
3 beers by 645! And two games of backgammon won!
Pace yourself bro 😂
Sis-and too late for that 😉 starting beer six at 740am
Don't discourage greatness in the making.
