Immediate reactions mid-way through the 3rd quarter in the 1pm games:
- Atlanta fans must be wondering why they paid for Kirk Cousins... maybe he's no longer 1pm Kirk and needs to shine in the 4:30 kickoffs
- Minnesota saying "Kirk who?", even if its against the Giants
- The Panthers are BAAAAAAD

Washington cut Joey. They pick up Cade York who hadn't kicked since 2022. He immediately goes 0-2 while Joey goes 3-3. Some things never change. I did enjoy watching Daniels today though. The playbook needs to be a bit more open, but similar to the Hokies, the line doesn't allow that. Defense was horrendous.

Did you see where Raheem Blackshear had 204(!) return yards? He scored 20 points for some lucky fantasy owners. He also had 8 returns, so Carolina is terrible and he'll get a lot of chances this year.
Good seeing his stats with "Virginia Tech" on his name.

And just like that Edmunds is gone as the only Hokie on the Jags. He gets called up to play against Miami off the practice squad, goes back Monday morning and the Steelers sign him off of it. Happy for him. But damnit why can't a single Hokie stay down here!

I don't understand why he hasn't been able to stick in one place for the last few years. He never should have been a first round pick in Pittsburgh, but after that sunk cost he was a solid, reliable player for them.
I think he maybe didn't want to re-sign in Pittsburgh because they didn't pick up his 5th year option and then signed him to a smaller one year contract. But it's surprising to me that he's bounced from Philly to Tennessee to Jacksonville like that

Like Pierson Prioleau longevity in the system also affects their pension. Not to mention they both didn't have a lot of body impacts for most of their careers. Riding the bench in the NFL is a nice way to earn a paycheck.

Very simple math which is not correct, but if he invested all of that and just drew 3% a year he's making $2M a year and it'll never run out π³ (assuming it grows at more than 3% obviously)

Tyrod Taylor threw a touchdown pass to Allen Lazard with just 25 seconds left that made the score 32-19. The Jets then failed on their two-point conversion attempt, which was notable, because it marked the first time in NFL history that a game had ever ended with the exact final score of 32-19.
It's the 1,085th unique final score in NFL history.

Didnt see a week 5 thread but Brock Hoffman is getting some snaps after one of the starters fot hurt. Quickly got a personal foul that looked like a pretty light retaliation to the steeler defender getting away with worse

Deshaun Watson out with what looks like an achilles tear and the browns fans were cheering (to the point other browns players were getting into it with fans). A good day for cleveland fans after their ownership brought that piece of shit in and washed away the goodwill tyrod and baker built.

Georgia might give the Panthers a better game than the Panthers are giving the Saints
I'm willing to give Kirk a pass on this game. That Pittsburg DL was big and nasty, and really exposed our OL.
Also thinking, at least we didn't guarantee him $230M. If we have to go to Penix, it won't completely blow our cap.
Joey Slye kicking New England to a win right now. Has 10 of their 16 points so far.
Pretty sure the legend of 1pm Kirk died in Minnesota
#YOU LIKE THAT!?
Being a Jags and Hokies fans is a rough weekend.
At least you're not a Giants fan like me and Joe
Well, you could be a cowboy fan that gets smoke blown up their butt all regular season only to shit the bed come the playoffs.
As opposed to averaging 5 wins a year for the last 7 Years and not making the playoffs....
I'm not falling for it. nope.

The OL wasn't great, but I thought it was better than in previous years. I agree on all other points, as a life long Skins fan.
The defense is other worldly bad. I didn't think it could be worse than Jack DelRio, but it is. I didn't expect that.

Tyrod goes in and scores the TD.
If you had told me as a college kid that he would be in the league 13 years and get a super bowl ring, I would've done backflips for the guy

Tyrod's career earnings are over $70M!
I'm so happy for him.

There's a reason it's called generational wealth.
And made a little history doing it.

Extending this to week 2, as there isn't a week 2 thread, man that was an exciting game last night!
Not really a fan of the Falcons, but happy to see anybody beat Philly.

If I was a defender I would go after him all the time to get him to retaliate, easy yards

Hate seeing Jayden Daniels in the locker room with a rib injury
