I've really wanted to have hope about this staff, but between looking like a complete mess against Vanderbilt and now looking completely overmatched by Rutgers, who is just out executing us play after play, our coaching problem couldn't be more glaring.

I mean that first down play they had 2 unblocked defensemen who ran around the entire line and met Drones at the point while he was handing off.

Well, here's my take on the staff. I assume we are stuck with them for the year. They have a chance to turn it around like last year. Still believe that Pry can VT into a very good spot given how well he has done with the offseason work. But if we don't win at least 7 or 8 games this year, Marve and/or Bowen have to. Beamer refusing to get rid of clueless people like Stinespring was the beginning of the end for him. Fuente was not a P5/P4 coach, but keeping clowns like Corn sealed it. Pry has to show he is willing to get rid of bad coaches or he has to go as well. I want Pry here next year even if we finish 6-7. But changes have to be made.

Our coaching in a nutshell. We bring in a OT (right tackle). Move him to LG...he had NEVER played a college down at G. He's played about 20 snaps.
Look at our YoY grades. They go consistently go down. Design your offense around the players or recruit players to run the system you want. Stop trying to force a square peg on a round hole.
All I've asked for the last decade is just to play competitive competent football. I don't even care about championships. Just play tough hard nosed football. And here we sit looking like the we don't even know the guy playing beside one another.

I think Pry is fine at HC, but we need to upgrade at other coaching positions.
He hired those assistants...and this team still makes the same mistake they made 2 years ago. He can go run back to his boy James Franklin.
And I would be okay if he held those assistants accountable. That's something that Fuente never did.
I think Pry had a good idea of what it takes to be successful, but needs more coaching help to make it happen. He is a good face for the program and can sell it well.
If Pry dumps Marve and Bowen and brings some experienced coordinators, I'd be okay with 1 more year of Pry, to see how it works out.

I want to see someone other than PC at LT. I would like to see a two QB system employed (I know that isn't ideal, but we suck so who cares) so we know what we've got (Drones is not very good), and I'd like to see as many of our youngsters as possible because our "experienced" squad is not very good.
