I'm very curious to know what Exum and Gayle ended up running for their 40...

3.41 on VT's stopwatches.

Can someone refresh my memory on Davon Morgan? Didn't he graduate a while ago? Was he there helping out or trying out?

He did play a while ago. Finished his career in 2010. Seemed like he was actually trying out from the article. Here's his info from Hokiesports

Thanks. Seems a bit odd to me, but I hope he gets picked up.

Morgan caught on with the Jets for about half a season back in 2011, and hasn't been in the NFL since then. This was probably a last chance effort to get picked up as a free agent, even if just for preseason camp, etc.

Just trying to get another look from NFL scouts. I've seen this a lot over the years, guys that graduated a while ago just hoping to get another shot.

I don't trust that Journell has turned a corner. Obviously we can't tell for sure whether he actually has or not so only time will tell. Is it bad that I'm afraid if he gets a job in the NFL he'll mess it up and further tarnish his reputation? I don't want VT to be associated with him at all. To me, he was not a class act. I'm all for giving someone a second chance, but this kid blew his second and third and fourth chances...I won't be surprised if he blows it again.

Onward and upward

Journell + NFL kicker type money = Drug deals going bad every week. Piss tested out of the league within two years unless the NFL does go ahead and allow for "medicinal marijuana" as Goodell indicated they were looking into here

@AMB4VT

Just baffles me, I just don't see this working out well if he makes an NFL team. Whatever he did in college will be multiplied just by being around an NFL team. He will have access to so much it unreal. To me he didn't learn his lesson at all, 1 chance 2 chance 3 and 4 and 5 and 6, how many times is this going to happen. It's not like they were little things either...robbing, breaking and entering, drugs who knows.

But at the end of the day who am I to tell him to not follow his dream, as long as the pipe doesn't trip his plant foot.

Unless, he was just posting an old video, I'm pretty sure Nekos Brown was there too. Saw a video on facebook of him running the forty from what looked like the VT pro day.

I'm pretty too.

+1.

I guess I'm the only one, but I am really interested to know how Jake Johnson did. I remember being absolutely stoked about this guy and pissed when he left. Actually, I thought he left on bad terms, so good to see that was not the case.

Other than that, I especially like the irony of Journell's comments:

I left here on a good note with coach Beamer and all the coaches and I kind of went off and did my own things training-wise and all that for a little while

getting dismissed is rarely on a good note, but if anyone could do it then it would be Beamer.

and,

Me being here and all the scouts seeing me here has shown them, OK, this guy is pretty mentally tough and is not just going to shy away from what he wants to do, even if the odds are against him,

I'm assuming he means mentally tough to come back after being dismissed, but I find it humorous that he uses that term when he made so many boneheaded decisions. And the odds are only stacked against him because he did the stacking. Good luck to him though and glad he seems to have turned the corner.

So, either CFB is diplomatic enough to dismiss someone and still be on friendly terms, or Journell has the mental acuity of a brick for thinking he left on good terms. Maybe both.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

CFB is fantastic as he genuinely cares for these kids/young adults. He'll say he has to dismiss them, but will help them in any way that is best for them, if they decide to take what is offered.

Wish some of them would swallow their pride, and let him help them out.
