Well this sucks
Stroman's VT career has been one injury after another with most being multi-games lost. Always hate to see injuries wipe out a chance to play in games they all love.
Certainly hate this for Stroman as he was talented and seemed to make a difference when he was healthy and played. But his absence will hopefully pay dividends for next year with all of the in-game reps the younger and inexperienced players have gotten up to this point and will continue to get for the rest of this season.
We miss Stroman big time this year.
Feel like safety play has been pretty solid. Jones and Mose have both been really improved. Not great but not a liability like last year either
I'll admit i've been living in a football void - when did Stroman get injured, and what's the injury?
He got injured at Vandy... iirc it looked like a shoulder injury and made me wonder if it was a reinjury from last year
Nope. Broken collarbone
Both the Stroman and Prioleau injuries are tough.
Stroman, as he was clearly the best high safety to start the year. I think he has a RS available to use so he can come back next year. I think he's participated in four games yet, (just week 1?), so he could in theory come back for the last few regular season games if he gets healthy. But, the silver lining is that he would be able to have another year on the team.
Prioleau was becoming the heir apparent at RB. Prioleau looked to be passing M. Thomas to be #2 on the depth chart and top RB going into the spring. He will still have a chance to be the number 1 guy next year, but this definitely hurts his development into the primary back. Plus, he was the primary returner on kickoffs. I don't think there is a silver lining here, but let's hope he has a Gosnell-like recovery and Gosnell-like SR year. VT was likely going to the portal for RB starter/depth this offseason, and this injury probably all-but assures VT will be bringing in an RB via the portal.
Love PJ and would love to see a hometown kid get a chance, but if he is our lead back next year we're in trouble
yea, I don't see a scenario in which Pry and Bowen at least try to upgrade there via the portal. QB too if Drones moves on (thinking/hoping he stays).
I hope we go after Cam Rising, Cam Ward, Taulia Tangliavoa, or Dillon Gabriel. One of them should be available in the portal.
well.... fuck.
I hope they heal up, and soon... not to play or anything, they can take their time with that, just because injuries suck.
Don't like to see injuries, but do like that it gives some underclassmen an opportunity to get experience. Hopefully it's good experience that pays off down the line.
