Mizzou at UMass has started slow.... I'm expecting Missouri to put up at least 50 by halftime

Scar gonna get punished for Vandy's crimes against bama

Surprisingly, holding their own at moment.

Watch, now that I've said something Bama will start steam rolling them

lol bama down 14-19... posted that when they were up 14-0. That comment aged like milk.

Can we just go ahead and give the Black Knights the ranking they deserve?

I mean, I haven't seen anything to prove otherwise... so yeah, they should be ranked.

One behind Navy.

Shane doing a hell of a job. Sakerlina with 19 unanswered.

DeBoer is gonna start feeling lots of heat if they drop back to back to Vandy and the poor man's USC.

Bama in serious trouble now

Not so fast my friend

That didn't age well

When did Iowa find an offense? Up 40-10 on Washington. That's like three or four games scoring last season.

Huskies run defense is non existent

holy shit. c'mon scar

Thoughts from the early games:

-Deboer is playing a dangerous game.

-Wisc just took Rutgers lunch money and shut their O down without any problem. Oddly, their DC didn't let Rutgers beat them with the same play 18 times.

-The Transfer Portal has been the death knell of Clawson and Wake Forest.

-If I developed selective deafness only to Joe Tessitore's voice, my life would be much better.

Tess is gonna be this generation's Musburger, and that is not a compliment

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

Musburger was my favorite!

You will see this game, this upset and this sign next on ESPN Sportscenter. Virginia Tech 31 Miami 7

His decision was made after a phone call with longtime Virginia Tech assistant coach Bud Foster. All Foster told him was, "We win. They don't."

I still haven't forgiven him for slurring and mushmouthing through the 2004 LOLUVA game. Him and Gary Danielson together were like nails on a chalkboard, every game but especially that one. Too many lil' nips during commercial breaks.

Then, like every big PBP guy is seemingly allowed to do, he stayed well past his sell-by date. From about 04 on, he just couldn't be relied on to relay an accurate description of what was going on on the field. And that's what I didn't like about him.

Come to think of it, it's what I don't like about every PBP guy I...don't like.

I was at the 2004 game so I never heard it. His comments about the Bama QBs gf in the stands years ago were cringe.

I went up to him after we stormed the court in 2007 after upsetting number one UNC in shooty hoops. He was still sitting at the table courtside. I told him I was a journalism major and just wanted to say hello and that I hoped he enjoyed the game in Cassell. He said good luck with a future in sports and "you guys are fucking crazy!" It was cool.

Might just be me, but I feel like Gus Johnson should be in that (unnaturally loud, overly hyped, conversation)

I'm still figuring this out.

Nah, I like Gus. It feels like it's coming from a more genuine place with him.

Tessitore is just cringey.

I been here since day 0.

How TF was that a catch for Texas? His foot clearly half out of bounds

VB born, class of '14

Sure hope Penn State losing holds up. It Tech can't win, Penn State losing might be the next best thing.

lol probably UVA's most impressive start to a season in a while and a big game vs. Louisville and they still can't get people to come to the game.

Seeing SEC on the field for Oklahoma-Texas still looks weird.

I was thinking the same thing with the B1G logo on USC's and UW's field

LOLUVA with the LOLPunt highlight of the year

Still can't find a clip of it on YouTube or Twitter. Punting into the back of your blocker is special.

Does that count as a blocked kick for the other team returning it or as the ball being downed because you touched it first?

It was a live ball as it had not yet crossed the line of scrimmage so like a fumble. The UVA punter tried to pick it up, then ball was lost in a crowd. Louisville got ball on the 16 yard line I think.

Here ya go, youtube at the setup for the punt.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Did I hear the announcer say that was the second time that happened in the game? That is just poetic.

Two crappy punts but only one off his own player. Somehow ESPN still credited him with a 16 yard punt there off the guy. It might have gone that far hitting him and bouncing backwards. Never been a fan of the running rugby type punts which is what the two shorties were. Punter didn't do that all game.

I guess they gave him credit for the ball coming to rest 16 yards from the line of scrimmage, no matter the direction.

I feel like the lineman should get credit for those yards.

Oh, I just looked at the gamecast and the box score. They did in fact credit him with -16 yards on that punt, it just shows up with out the - sign in the gamecast. Adding them up it's a negative punt.

Pretty impressive choke job by Illinois. Manages to give up 2 TDs in the final 2 minutes to lose.

Man, this is a bizarre ending.

Edit: now going to OT.

Recovering scientist working in business consulting

Penn State & USC and Purdue & Illinois both in OT right now.

Southern Cal had an impressive effort of doing basically everything you can to hand a game to someone else.

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

USC misses their FG and unfortunately Pedo State made theirs.

Purdue scores a TD and decides to go for two for the win in OT. QB didn't see the RB in the flat that would have scored and takes a sack, Illinois wins.

Seeing Penn State win that ...

Recovering scientist working in business consulting

Lincoln Riley should be fired for incompetence for the way he handled the last minute of that game. 3 TOs with a minute and he doesn't use a single one and the QB ends up trying to force a throw.

How did he go to USC with all that money and talent and get worse?!

The only more bizarre part was as Riley was letting the clock run down, Franklin inexplicably called a T/O for him....

Maybe we aren't the only ones who need a "clock assistant"...although i suspect some of Pry's issues stem from his tutelage under "Big Game James" Franklin.

Fucking Penn State is NEVER on the other end of those. EVER. Fuck that program.

They moved up a spot in the rankings after that "win" lol

Every second counts

Oregon player spit in OSU players face and gets ejected before half. What a tool!

Pain is Temporary, Chicks Dig Scars
Glory is Forever, Let's Go Hokies!!

This game has been wild. Questionable catch given to OSU leading to their TD, Judkins got the ball ripped from his arms by a DT, a fumbled snap on a PAT that was nearly returned, an "onside kick" where the kick was beamed at an OSU player, and then the spitting by #1.

"That move was slicker than a peeled onion in a bowl of snot." -Mike Burnop

PSU TE and former Hokie commit Tyler Warren with 17 catches for 224 yards and a TD

"Why gobble gobble chumps asks such good questions, I will never know." - TheFifthFuller

Those 17 catches ties him with the most ever in a FBS game by a TE.

Good for him!

Hate to say it but he probably made the right call. Don't think he would ever get close to that stat line here. That game might vault him into the upper echelon of TE prospects when he gets drafted

In other news Daquan Wright is fat, out of shape and not been a factor at Ole Miss.

Tennessee finally scores with 3 mins left in the 3rd quarter. Florida surprisingly leads by 3.

Momentum has swung to UT.

OSU v Ducks has been an entertaining game. Boneheaded self-inflicted ejection by the Oregon top WR spitting in a DB's face in the first quarter.

Ducks would be up 32-28 right now if their first XP snap had been executed better and they hadn't subsequently tried for 2 and failed on their next TD.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Kentucky at -13.5 was insane

Oregon, just run the ball

Oh yes! My Cyclones taking it to the WVa. Great time-consuming drive after an interception to pretty much ice the game.

Lol osu really bungled that

Onward and upward

no fucking way lol

I don't know how to feel about what happened in Eugene.

I been here since day 0.

Don't worry, you'll see this game twice more this year smh

Yeah I thought the same thing as well last night. I really think the expanded conferences and playoffs is devaluing these "big brand" matchups. What would normally make an OSU-Oregon game or PSU playing USC at the coliseum so special was the rarity honestly. It just didn't have the same meaning to me seeing B1G on the field at USC and Oregon. These matchups are going to happen every year now and maybe multiple times with the conference championship and now expanded playoff. Those games will be about as special as an AFC team playing an NFC team in the NFL.

Having super conferences in an era of an expanded playoff just seems kind of dumb to me. If this super league thing comes to pass, I think you ideally need 5-6 smaller conferences of 12 teams. You're going to start seeing the same games up to three times a year which will get tiresome.

You're going to start seeing the same games up to three times a year which will get tiresome.

This is my opinion as well, but I don't think most fans feel this way. I have friends who aren't sickos, but still tune in every Saturday for cfb, and they all like this.

I complained in a group chat about seeing OSU/UO thrice this season and they were all like 'why wouldn't you want that - it was a great game?' They said the same thing after UGA/bama.

I don't really want to see Oregon/OSU 3x a year just like I never liked seeing UGA/Bama multiple times a year. They are good games, but they get old. That being said, I can't wait for the Army - Navy 3-peat

Only way that happens this season is if they meet in the playoffs.

Order would be:
1. Conference Championship (maybe)
2. Army Navy Game
3. Playoffs (Unlikely)

like 'why wouldn't you want that - it was a great game?'

Because it's only like that once, the other two times won't be like that.

To be fair, UO/UW was pretty great both times last year.

I'm think Bama LSU from years ago

The "great" game that had exactly zero touchdowns scored? That one?

Yeah that boring crappy game that everyone called the game of the century because no one wanted to throw the ball and just run iso in to massive Dlines. Then in the rematch saban was like I can out defense them so let's throw the ball and they won by like 3 scores.

If they meet 2 more times, this game was meaningless, and thus by definition NOT a great game. This is still college football where you don't play people in your division twice on purpose like the NFL.

As of now there are SIX SEC teams in the playoffs. The regular season in that league is beyond meaningless.

Oklahoma State is playing Oregon this year?

Highlight of the day for me was the Oregon onside kick.

Kicker lined up and just blasted it straight at the nearest OSU player. Just fuckin' nailed him. I've been wanting to see that approach for a long time now. Why try a bouncy onside kick when you can just line up and kick it straight at the guy's balls.

Embed for those interested. I missed it while putting the kiddo to bed. This is incredible.

Yes thank you inject this straight into my veins.

Oh, that's fucking beautiful.

Please tell me I'm not the only one whose mind immediately went to the scene in Waterboy where the kicker looks down the line asking, "Who's it gonna be? Who's it gonna be? Oh yeah, there's my bitch." before his onside kick.

If you play it, they will win.

I thought that too
