FSU Duke is something special. 7-3 dook and dook hasn't gotten a first down through the entire first quarter.
The end of this FSU 1Q is triggering my PTSD from the 3Q last night
Wow...uhhh..FSU may have entered full-on dumpster fire mode.
Brock Glenn makes DJU look like Tom Brady.
FSU's last four drives:
-pick 6
-fumble leading to a Duke TD
-blocked FG
-INT leading to a Duke FG
Almost halftime and Duke has 53 total yards but leads 17-3. FSU is a special kind of awful this year and I have my S'Mores ready
you just hate to see it
...but more importantly, you love to see it
Georgia isn't taking Uga to Texas stating that the dog wasn't mature enough .... so i assume he was caught speeding
Nah..couldn't be a vehicular offense, I think we've established that there is no punishment @ Georgia for that
What in the Pry is Duke doing calling timeout? Giving the Noles an unnecessary possession.
Trying to get the ball back in FSU's hands so the Duke D can create a score. Neither one of these offenses looks like they have a clue.
FSU finally going to their high profile freshman QB. Guess we will see what he can do in 2nd half.
I guess we saw. He's no Mark Leal.
To be fair to the kid, they yanked him faster than they did Glenn who had three (should have been four) turnovers for the Noles. Seems pretty counter productive especially now that they are 1-6. He still finished with a higher QBR than Glenn but they only gave him one drive in the second half before going back to Glenn.
...or Brendan Motley
Have not heard that name in awhile.
FSU is an absolute train wreck
Glenn's stat line is phenomenal, 3/10 37 yards 2 interceptions
Did they include the Int's as receptions?
This is the way Friday and Saturday football should be enjoyed. Resting on our Thursday laurels. Critical eye towards our lesser brethren.
And might I add, sipping on a Bourbon.
Yessir, stress free weekend of football ahead.
I cannot tell you how awesome it felt to wake up knowing the whole weekend was still ahead of me, and we were already 1-0 this week
Perfect time to root for chaos
What was the o/u on how many different QBs took a snap for FSU tonight?
Wow third time tonight FSU has imploded drives in the Red Zone
Watching Brock Glenn makes me miss Grant Noel
You know, he never lost to LOLUVA.
Does this count as a double post?
Don't worry, I drank.
Plus...if it did, it would be worth seeing twice.
FSU playing four Hokies 3rd Quarters
And just like the McDonald's commercials say, I'm loving it
Duke isn't good. But FSU is atrocious. How did they get here? Bad Hs evaluations, bad portal evaluations, and no development.
Norvell is fired at the end of season, right? There's no excuse for that level of stink.
I don't think he gets to see the end of the season. If the 'Noles dig themselves down to 1-8, I think he's out.
6 different lineups on the OL in 7 games.
WR's who get open but drop easy catches
defense that has been inconsistent
oh and giving DJU the reins to an offense that was going to have trouble maintaining a clean pocket
I mean he lost to Duke which no other FSU coach had ever done that so yes?
Note: 2017 was the close duke came to beating FSU where they lost by 7 the next closest game was an 18 point FSU victory
Unfortunately for FSU they just gave Norvell a contract extension after last season so firing him this year would cost about $65M, at a time they are also preparing to spend whatever it costs to leave the ACC.
After the experience with Fuente I'm becoming more and more convinced it's never a good idea under any circumstances for an AD to agree to an unaffordably large buy out for a coach, even if that means letting a good coach leave. The risk of not being able to fire the coach is starting to outweigh the risk of needing to hire a new coach.
GT's starting QB1 King is out vs Notre Dame this weekend. QB2 Pyron is known to us.
Watching highlights wish I had stayed up to watch Okie St vs BYU.
Same here. I'm so mad at myself lol
Glad we narrowly avoided this distinction and let FSU claim it.

I honestly don't understand how FSU can be this bad
Players have no fight and quit long ago.
No qb, bad OL, poor line backer play. Basically the 2022 Hokies.
On top of that, players aren't bought in.
I think this is pretty clearly the case that most of the team quit putting in enough effort after their goals for the season were out of reach, as a result of recruiting failures unable to fill holes from last season. I definitely think despite a few weaknesses, the players that are there should be playing better than this. Very much a Miami bak situation. I am pleasantly shocked it's gotten as bad as it has because I thought Norvell was a better coach that wouldn't have allowed this level of negative culture to fester.
Seems inevitable that FSU is going to fire Norvell and hire Coach Prime.
F$U can use their ACC performance bonus to pay for the buyout and hiring Coach Prime. Oops, they won't be getting any bonus this year. lmao.
Norvell came from Memphis correct? He was Fuente's OC while Fuente was there right, then he stayed to be the HC. Do I have this correct?
AFAIK, Norvell and Fuente never worked together. Norvell was OC at Arizona State under Todd Graham before replacing Fuente as head coach at Memphis.
Thanks!
I doubt it- Norvell's buyout is insane, and Prime won't have his son playing QB unless Scheduer gets a waiver to play 7 years etc.
Norvell buyout less than what A&M paid Jimbo ($82M) to leave. It's $63M. Crazier talk is happening around Kirby Smart if he doesn't take UGA to final four again. They would owe him like $110M after the season to buy him out.
UGA fans are crazy. Lose a game and they want him gone?
Well this was the third game they have lost in the last 4 years...
I mean Heupul has more wins against Bama in 4 seasons than Kriby does in 9 years. So maybe they think they can upgrade.
Kinda hoping he goes to Vegas as the coach/GM in time to draft Shadeur, a la Lebron.
Just to watch the train wreck.
Shane slaughtering Oklahoma in the first half
Let's see how Miami pulls this one out of their ass
FTFY
Facts
And sadly true based on comments regarding the refs and Miami again. They were bailed out in at least two spots.
UVA played well in the first half...or Clemson took them lightly. Either way order has been restored.
Miami looked like it was finally getting some separation from Louisville, 31-17.
Louisville returns the ensuing kickoff 100 yards, quickly collects a fumble, scores a quick touchdown and within a minute and a half it's tied at 31.
Beware of the 3rd quarter.
Louisville just ran a fake punt for a 1st down. This game has had almost everything
Just texted a friend telling him to tune in. This is a good game.
Tune in but leave it on mute.
Tessitore is insufferable
Hottest name in college coaching will officially be Cignetti very soon.
Legitimately impressive what he has done at Indiana.
Indiana up 42 over Nebraska at the moment. They don't play a ranked team (Michigan) until Nov 9. Ohio's Tate the next week. I'm placing a massive fraud alert in Bloomington
"Ohio's Tate". Not sure if that was intentional or autocorrect, but it still misspelled taint.
Lol yeah initially it was a typo but then I corrected it. Then I said fuck it and changed it back.
It's now The Ohio Taint University
USCe is rolling at Oklahoma
ACC Review Center warming up for a key late 4th Quarter overturn to get Miami over.
This game is getting too close for comfort.
Was this posted before or after they did so.
End of 3rd Quarter.
I would give myself lots of credit, but when the ACC Review Center has had a helping hand in 3 straight Miami victories, its not like I was going out on a limb...
Can't wait to see how this unfolds to give Miami this game Over Louisville by the ACC
That didn't take long...
The call on the field is not critical, don't these announcers know anything.
I hit up Topher after Miami stormed down the field. But we all knew that TD wasn't gonna stand.
Oh I thought it was a bad call when I saw it, his hand was going forward.
It looked to me like
hand was emptythe ball was dislodged before his arm started forward.Either way there didn't appear to be anything that was indisputable and it qas called fumble on the field
Indisputable overruled by the Jim Phillips Business Exception.
will be overturned for sure.
There it is!!!
Fucking ACC is so in the tank for Miami that its comical and pathetic.
I hate to say it but I'd rather see Miami win this game tbh... puts Louisville at 2 losses with Pitt and Clemson still to come.
Edit: that does not mean that I think the ACC isn't helping Miami- bc they 100% are.
Agree. Currently my rooting interest in ACC games is anything that gets VT closer to a rematch with Miami in the ACC championship. VT beating an undefeated Miami in that game to spite the ACC would be the best timeline.
edit: also of course hoping UVA and FSU lose every remaining game
Exactly my thought process. We could and should have beat them. Hell, Cal could and should have beat them. I'd honestly think it'd be better for the ACC to have 2 teams in the playoff than 1 that gets completely exposed, but maybe they know something we don't🤷♂️
Reply to edit: 100%. Hard asf to cheer for UVA even if it helps Tech, and my wife is an FSU fan so bragging rights are always appreciated
Louisville scrapping, can the refs help DaU one more time?
ESPN commentators talking about how this was Miami's "first real big speed bump". What I would give to have a short-term memory like that.
The second Vanderbilt beat Alabama, everybody stopped mentioning their win over us. lol
Dang Cal has lost 4 games by a total of 9 points.
They showed a graphic, we were third with 14 pts between our 3 losses.
You guys see the lids Illinois was wearing? Those were FIRE!
While beating Missagain.
I didn't grow up a Tech fan and lived in TN for six years of my life. Didn't find out about VT until my sophomore yr of HS so I don't have the hate that some have for Tenn.
Of all the SEC teams I really don't mind them. Hope they beat Alabama
Yeah I really don't mind Tennessee tbh. That's actually our target relocation area in 5ish years. Rocky Top gets old after a bit, but I don't hate them other than for beating Tech at Bristol.... I certainly dislike them less than Bama.. Or Miami, or FSU.
If I had my way I would have TN and WVU on our OOC schedule every season.
Couldn't agree more. Regional rivalries are the fuckin best, and what college football was truly built on IMO
My favorite/least favorite sec team changes all the time. In 2009 I despised Tennessee because their fans were dumb as shit. Now they run a fun offense and I like them.
I kinda like Auburn because they might be the silliest fanbase/school in cfb. Now I hate them bc fuck Hugh freeze.
....I have some bad news for you about Tennessee fans since 2009
They used to be way more confident when they were 2 years removed from Phil fulmer. Now they're much improved.
This just tells me we know different Tennessee fans, haha.
Bama gonna have 2 L's. Blahahahahah
First time they have 2 losses before November since... 2007. It's looking like this could be a special year for CFB.
Don't worry. 100% (well, at least an Ivory-esque 99 and 44 100th percent pure) chance they are still in the playoffs with 2 losses. Heck, even if they finish 9-3 I could see them still getting picked, though at least there I'd say the odds are against it.
Suck it Bama.
(But E$PN will still put em in the playoffs.)
If you aren't watching UGA-UTex, go back and look at the Mukuba INT. What an outstanding read/react play from cover 1 and then concentration for the catch.
Love how it took USC joining the B1G for Maryland to have someone to beat up on.
Did not have UGA up 20-0 on Texas on my bingo card
Yeah Texas going to fuck me from going 6-0 in the pick'em this week
Well UCF working on a top 10 win
This UGA-TX game is insane. I can't believe the refs rewarded the Texas fans for throwing shit on the field.
UGA needs to figure their shit out fast or else TX is gonna take ALL of the momentum.
Insanity. The only two reasons this was anywhere near close was because of the zebras and the fact that Georgia defensive backs can't catch. They could have had like 6 ints this game.
What a lucky idiot in the UCF game. I will never understand dropping the ball short of the goal line.
College football Officiating I think has reached an all-time low.
Obvious TD by Etienne that was marked short on-field reviewed and upheld despite clear angles of ball crossing goal line.
They call targeting on Georgia Safety where he leads with his shoulder and appears to try to clear his head---goes to replay and upheld.
Two plays later, obvious helmet-to-helmet targeting that isn't called on-field or reviewed.
Its time to ditch Replay---and focus on improving the on-field Refs effectiveness while accepting that some calls will be missed or wrong.
And targeting rules need to be completely rethought and clarified because it is a completely random crapshoot in terms of how it is enforced at this point.
Agreed. UGA just had another kid thrown out for targeting even though the offensive player was the one who lower his helmet and the defender got him in the chest.
Targeting is terrible. The original intent was still good, but the inconsistent way it is applied helps no one. If I could waive a wand, I would also make it a personal foul and get rid of the ejection and suspension of the next half.
I'd rather see it like flagrant fouls in the NBA, when you getgl x number you get a suspension. That way it still is there to handle the guys not paying right but doesn't screw over players that get screwed by bad refs or impossible to follow language in the rule
Cyclones!
