Trevor Thompson to transfer Per ESPN's Jeff Goodman

Thompson average 16.2 min/game, 5.0 PPG, & 4.7 RebPG. I thought he developed very well this season and it will be a shame to see him go.

HM's apparently mean High Majors.

High Majors? So, Colorado?

Washington, maybe?

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Maybe Washington State or Gonzaga.

Wow surprised by this. I thought of all our returning players Thompson would have benefited the most. **Buzz loves to work the ball inside to his big men to score on the offensive end of the floor. His current staff has been very successful in putting big men in the League.

Do you mean Buzz?

@Fightin_Gobbler

Go Hokies

Go Falcons

EDIT: deleted. question repeated. What the guy above me said.

still some top players in the 2014 class...Buzz would definitely endear himself to hokie nation if he could pull off getting a great recruit this late in the game to take trevor's spot

"Reports" are saying that Malek Harris might be coming with buzz to VT.

Wish Trevor the best of luck, too bad he didn't want to stay for the ride.

Malek Harris would probably be the last guy I would want at Tech of all of Buzz's current recruits. Harris has had some serious disciplinary issues in high school, including being suspended 11 games his Junior year and suspended for his entire Senior season.

He is a major talent but I have to wonder with arguably less supervision if he will be able to stay out of trouble once he gets to college. Its obviously something Buzz thinks he can handle but I don't want to have another Jeff Allen type issue.

Anytime you can get a Top 100 talent to come in. Take it. Especially after watching Will Johnston and Beyer log minutes this year.

In regards where we are though, I would take three of the other four players in Whit's current class at Marquette before I would want Harris. Take it for what you will, flags like that are the kind of things that lead to programs getting violations down the road.

I see the TKP lords have blessed you with the highly regarded title Hoops Wiz...
Turkey leg for that.

...TSL...?

This is TKP.

You are forgiven, have a leg.

No TSL might as well bow down to him too.

Great talent though.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

damn man, I felt like Wilson and Thompson and Emelogu had a bright future coming up together as a team. I suppose this is inevitable with a coaching change but can we go one offseason without losing a third of the roster?!?

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

He was leaving no matter what.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

This isn't that surprising to me, he was pretty much JJ's "baby." He never lacked in confidence, claiming that he was going to be a one and done. I guess that just meant with the program.
Just means that JVZ and CJ are probably the starters heading into the season now with Kirby and Marshall off the bench.

no

Ehhh, this may be a touch of an overreaction. I don't think this is as big of a loss as a few of the others we've lost recently.

What big men do we have for next year? We lose Raines and Thompson. That leaves us with the oft injured Barksdale and JVZ. Thompson is going to be a very good player, he was young and needed strength but where ever he goes, we will be good. Losing DFS and Harrel were bigger blows but the lack of depth our team has to begin with, losing any additional players is bad.

You're forgetting Kirby. I expect for Malek Harris to get a lot of PT if he commits (likely.)

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Marshall Wood will also likely need to pack on a few pounds to play the three and four positions. Expect JVZ to be your "starting center" and C.J. Barksdale to be the "power forward"

Hey, but Kenny "The Jet" Smith has verbally committed for next year

That was classic. Buzz is hilarious

'Its easy to grin, when your ship comes in, and you've got the stock market beat,
but the man worthwhile, is the man who can smile, when his shorts are too tight in the seat'

Here's the back story. Cell phone on in team meeting... still sour about comment made a couple years ago and not willing to talk it through... well ok maybe he is soft. Sheesh.

Good pull. If that's the case, I got some advice for Thompson "GROW UP" If I had my cell phone on in a meeting and it went off, my boss would lop my head off in front of everyone as well. I had a professor in my MBA program at Mason take several students phones and told them they could pick them up from the MBA office the next day after they went off in class. Kid probably needs a coach like Buzz to make him NBA ready if he is that undeveloped mentally.

Same here. Work meetings require the cell phone on silent if not off. Maybe there was something to the statement he was SOFT.

Apparently Buzz is going after a transfer student named Charles Barkley who has one year of eligibility left...
