And just like that... we're looking at the distinct possibility of two new four star recruits coming to Cassell this fall. You've got to consider - Buzz has been on the job 48 hours, what have YOU done this weekend? Wow...

To be fair, JJ had two four stars coming to campus. If the rumors are true of Buzz having two more scholarships than we could have four four stars coming to campus assuming Buzz brings Cohen and Harris. I still haven't seen anything saying Harris has been released from his NLI. Word on the street is that Marquette is going after Ben Howland as their new coach who is no slouch. He might keep some of theircommits if that happens soon. I would rather see Buzz convince Satchel Paige-Pierce to come with Cohen. Give us another big man option down low.

Fixed, thanks to the edit function! It was primarily a joke about Buzz' work ethic, any way. Evidently, our esteemed AD does not waste time, either. He's managed to inject attention and enthusiasm in short order!

You and above are correct. The multiple suspensions still have me concerned. Guess we will wait to see if Buzz makes Harris an offer. Right now that hasn't happened.

Went to an improv show, got very drunk from great beer Friday night, woke up hung over and went to help someone homebrew. Then I went to Shamrockfest and got drunk again, continued drinking in DC, and then slept all day Sunday. I feel very accomplished.

All three have accomplished more than me! I thought I had found the gal for me last night. Unfortunately, I yelled at her when her cell phone rang and she left me for some small time guy who lives closer to her house...

Although Marquette signee Sandy Cohen tweeted Saturday night that he had been released from his scholarship, interim athletics director Bill Cords said Sunday morning that wasn't the case.
After Cohen's tweet, Cords called the 6-foot-6 forward from Seymour to reiterate Marquette's all-sports policy that no student-athlete receives a release following a coaching change until he or she has the chance to speak with the new coach.
That's an interesting policy. I can't remember for sure, but I think Harrell was granted his release almost immediately after Greenberg was fired. So I guess we don't have a similar policy. I think it's dumb though, if the kid wants to still go to the school the next coach can start to recruit him. But he shouldn't be forced to stick with them. I know the kids are supposed to choose the school and not the coach, but acting like we don't know the truth about it is dumb in my opinion.

Harrell didn't officially request release until after Weaver had hired JJ but it was seen as a foregone conclusion back then because of the situation with Harrell's AAU coach. Don't sell Ben Howland short if he ends up being hired, he could convince quite a few of these kids to stay. I do think that eventually most of these kids will hit the open market if nothing else to see what else they might get offered since some of the bigger programs like Duke and Kentucky will possibly have One and Done openings to fill.

If his intentions are to follow Buzz, they can hire whoever they want, our open scholarship is his the minute he's granted his release.
Now if Marquette wants to be childish about it, they'll block him from being able to declare here. But if they do that, it will come across as such, and it'll negatively impact their future recruiting.

Nothing like some quality OC humor on a Sunday morning. Well played.

Drank heavily and called Seth Greenberg's house just to hang up on him.
I decided to log in just to give this a turkey leg.
Great stuff! lol
I did 3 loads of laundry, a homework assignment, a quiz, used UVA's money to pay for 3 meals and made a mental note to call Shane Beamer on Monday.
.... Close enough.

I don't think Harris ever actually signed his NLI due to complications with his suspension. Appears he's completely free to go where he wants.

Also interesting is that Cohen still hasn't retracted the tweet or issued a clarification on Twitter.

Maybe Cohen could arrange to have someone call his cell phone when he meets with the new coach to ensure he got his release...
