The Megan Duffy era is off to a 1-0 start.
The game was exciting all the way through.
The team played with tons of energy and heart.
Everyone who touched the ball was a scoring threat.
Defense was flying around and generated lots of transition points.
10 Players got on the court well before the final minutes AND ALL SCORED.
Role players from last year got to take more ownership.
Entire bench was up celebrating a layup with less than 2 minutes left with a 41 point lead.
There was joy on the players faces.
Scored 99 points to win by 42.

I'd love to see an upper half ACC finish (12th preseason? the indignity!) and maybe crack the top 25 a couple times. This is a good first step, even if it doesn't provide much actual insight. Sunday's game will though.
Congrats on CMD becoming the 8th VT Women's Basketball coach to coach a game.

Those two only had 1 season at the helm, not one win in their first season.

Ha Ha! I think she's the one that got selected and she grabbed up Chase and Xander to go too. Chase said it was pretty even though. Nice memory to have for the four of them.

Starting off on the right foot.
It is a fun style of basketball to watch. The way they transition from offense to defense quickly is much more entertaining than last year where it was slowly bring it up the court and then watch only two players get the ball. The fact that everyone scored is impressive. I think it is going to be a good year and they are going to surprise some teams.
I agree. Hope they use that preseason pick in the ACC as bulletin board material to prove everyone wrong, especially for the girls who stayed to continue to be a part of the program. I think CMD has the potential to keep the program at the heights we enjoyed under Brooks. Time will tell.
ACC women's hoops is like the SEC in football- but better. Duffy will soon realize what a meat grinder this is. You have legit final four type teams in NC State, ND. You have a top 10 ish program in Louisville. UNC is very good, Duke is very good. The list goes on.
