WBB vs Coppin State 2PM Sat on ACCNx

The Ladies host the Coppin State Eagles today at 2 PM on the ACC Network extra platform. This should be another tune up game for the Hokies. The Eagles are 2-2 on the season with a close win against Frostburg State (72-70) and a blowout against Saint Francis. Their two losses were blowouts to Maryland and South Carolina.

Nine of the 13 players on the roster are transfers. Their top 7 players are all transfers, which is not a big surprise since this is coach Jermaine Woods third year leading the team.

The Eagles have started 8 different players in 4 games. They have two players scoring in double digits in Laila Lawrence at 18.5 ppg and Angel Jones at 14.5. Lawrence also averages 8.8 rebounds per game. At 6'2" she will be tallest Eagle on the court most of the game, although Belinga Ariell-vadr, 6'3" plays about half the game. She shoots 44% overall and 40% from three. She also averages 2.3 assists per game. Looks like a complete player who will be a challenge for the Hokies to guard. She scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds against South Carlina. Angel Jones had 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists against SC. If the Hokies can hold those two to their season averages, this should be an easy win,

This should be another game for Coach Duffy to play a lot of players and try different line up combinations. Maybe Myah Hazelton will even get to play.

LET'S GO HOKIES!

Maybe trying out each backup big as the only backup to give them more minutes per game played to be evaluated.

Never Forget #1 Overall Seed UVA 54, #64 UMBC 74

I hope that is the case. If true, we should see a lot of Hazelton today.

Doesn't matter if it's cake or pie as long as it's chocolate.

#21 in the game!

Didn't make this game, but friend who did says Hazelton was riding bike during game after she played in the 2nd quarter.

Go Hokies!!

instant foul and instant points!

And she scores

Hokies win going away. All eleven girls got into the game. Ramiya White looks like she could be pretty good, if she gets in shape.

We have some players this year. At least the ladies look like an ACC team. Not final four material, but bubbly. Should be fun to keep watching.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

#31 for their team was by far their best player and the refs were letting her muscle around. I think Ramiya got as much play time as she did because 31 couldn't shove her around.

Agreed, outside of Lawrence, the rest of Coppin St had 31 points. Take away Gaston and they only had 19 points across the other 9 players.
