WTH is going on with Liberty? Did they have a qb go down or something? I hate them as much as the next person, but I'm surprised to see a Chadwell led team getting beat or almost beat by some of the worst teams in the FBS.

Salter is still starting and playing for them. Not sure what the issue is other than their pass attempts per game seem to be low. Sucks that Liberty won in OT, would have loved to see them lose to Umass.

Got in the car near the end of the game to hear Pitts announcers call the fg that put them up w 1:36 left. They were yucking it up basically celebrating the dub, and then the qb rips off the 50 yarder. "I thought he was gonna only get a few yards..." Then quiet whispers and them in their feelings. Glorious.

I am not a professional lip reader....But...Sure did look like Brian Kelly told Chris Hilton this on the sideline..."Don't walk away from me! You are f**king uncoachable. Who the f**k do you think you are?"#LSU#Florida#SECpic.twitter.com/L9v5sr5OUf— Hunter McCann (@mccann_hunter) November 16, 2024

When I see the word 'entitled' I don't think of the players - I think BK. The idea that he thinks it's okay to talk to someone like this is ridiculous. If my boss talked to me like that, I'd start swingingquit my job on the spot and find a new one immediately. Also, I'd never speak to a coworker, supervisor, or subordinate like that.

Yes, I was being quite hyperbolic, and that part of my comment was utterly ridiculous.
That said, I think the point stands, you shouldn't be an asshole to people, and if someone is an asshole to you, you shouldn't have to just sit their and take it - you should be able to walk away. And NIL/the portal gives players leverage to hold asshole coaches accountable.
I'm not, and never have, said that our current iteration of NIL/portal is ideal, but I do think that it's an obvious and worthwhile improvement over the situation from 6+ years ago.

I mean the rest of their season is SMU and VT, I'm not sure it matters what they do, but I think Colander still gives them a shot while with Muskett they just lose playing 2 uninspired games.

The BYU line was just off, and they kept hitting on it during GameDay. Kansas was getting only 2.5 on the road at an undefeated #6. Someone knew something, and they were right.

E$PN all season has been on Cam Wards jockstrap for the Heisman but after the Miami loss to GT, yesterday they didn't even have Ward in their Top Five Heisman Watch graphics.
It was Travis Hunter - Colorado guy who takes alot of snaps, Ashton Jeanty - Boise State RB, Dillon Gabriel - Oregon QB, Jaxson Dart - Ole Miss QB, Jalen Milroe - Alabama QB
I can't stand Da U but Ward has 35 total TDs. Milroe has 32, Dart has 22 and Gabriel 22. Ward leads all passers in passing yards as well.
Jeanty is a clear candidate. He likely will finish season over 2000 yards.
Hunter I don't get the fascination. Yeah he goes both ways but his stats seem meh to me on both sides. He is 14th in receiving yards, tied for 8th in TD receptions and has 1 rushing TD. On defense he has 3 ints (tied for 29th), 23 tackles and 8 passes defended (tied for 23rd).
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I hear you about Hunter. People are talking like he's the frontrunner and I'm not into it as much as am I into Jeanty, though he still won't outdo Barry Sanders 1988 season at 2628 rushing yards (238.9 yds/game and 7.6 yards/carry).
Jeanty will be likely be playing in 14 total games this year (10 so far, with 1893 yards for 189.3 yards/game and 7.4 yards/carry, and a high likelihood of playing in the MWC championship game and then a bowl/maybe playoff) but a 2,000+ yard season is uncommon.
There are 29 instances of 2000+ yards in a season and the list is littered with Heisman winners (and non-winners) so maybe Jeanty's strength of schedule will hold him back.
Still Gabriel and Ward are on the list, and Gabriel is leading the #1 team in the country too, so he's got that going for him.

Have you watched Hunter? He is the most electrifying player in cfb since Lamar Jackson. Dude makes 2-3 holy-shit-how-did-he-do-that plays every game. He's a consensus top 10 draft pick as a receiver OR Corner. Also - I think you're minimizing the fact that he is playing DOUBLE the snaps of anyone else - that's insane. I think You're nuts if you don't think he should be invited to New York.
We should be celebrating the heisman coverage so far. The fact that hunter (non-qb at Colorado) Jeanty (g5) are getting legit coverage is fantastic.

Honestly the only really impressive thing is him playing both ways well.
You say this like it's not that big of a deal? When else has this happened in modern college football? Myles Jack for his freshman season a decade ago, Jebrill Peppers, Chris Gamble, Charles Woodson, and Champ Baily? That's like 1.5 players per decade since 1990.
Not only that, but the sheer amount of snaps he's playing is insane. He's playing way more snaps than any of those other guys.
Finally, he's electrifying. Just youtube search 'Travis Hunter Highlight reel'
He is isn't he is a worthy either side of the ball.
How so? Like he's not electrifying enough? He's not fun enough to watch? He's not good enough?
Better not be the last one... he's a concensus top 10 pick, with a very likely shot at going #1 overall.
Look, the Heisman trophy is to be awarded to the "most outstanding" player in college football. Every voter interprets that differently. To me, it's NOT an MVP award or the 'best' player, but I think of it as the most electrifying player. The player with the most 'holy shit' moments. The player who makes you say "how did he do that?!" the most. To me, Travis Hunter is absolutely one of those players.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I'm with you on Travis Hunter. I think people assume he is playing part-time on both sides, however, he is playing 120-130 snaps per game. That is full-time on both sides with minimal coaching and rest between series. He's playing at a really high level and has had a bunch of insane catches.
It's either him or Jeanty. Both have been really impressive but the rarity of what Hunter has been doing and doing it well puts him slightly ahead for me.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Like that deflection INT? HE has a moments because he plays so many snaps, gets so many targets, is he good yes, he isn't Heisman winning good. He is a very smart kid by most accounts, hopefully he gets good advice going into the NFL draft about contracts. 12 WR's make more than highest paid corner, 23 make 20 million a year only 6 corners have that contract.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Pretty low bar....those are two of the highest quantity positions on both sides of the ball. Not saying he isn't immensely talented but his contributions just don't awe me on either side of the ball so putting them together doesn't make my opinion of his play improve dramatically. It's a great story but that's all it is for me.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
But it's not 'best' - it's 'most outstanding' and what Travis hunter is doing is easily one of the top 5-10 most 'outstanding' things we've seen a college football player do in the past decade.

UMessexcuse me, UMass having some first half fun at Liberty's expense.WTH is going on with Liberty? Did they have a qb go down or something? I hate them as much as the next person, but I'm surprised to see a Chadwell led team getting beat or almost beat by some of the worst teams in the FBS.

Salter has been the QB all year. Offense has scored 30+ in seven of nine games.
The close or lost games have been mostly their defense, specifically run defense being a train wreck.
That makes sense why they lost to KsU
I appreciate your obligation.
NWern started quick against anOSU but they're getting slaughtered.
Clemson punking Narduzzi makes me a little happy
Dammit Navy get on the boat
OurKansas really needs to be angrier against Texas but I expected this
I'll be pulling for Iowa State to break their skid this evening. Other than that, yeah, I have not watched 1 second of live game today.
Edit: Cyclones!
Pitt v Klumpson is the worst game i've ever watched
Why in the heck couldn't VT have beaten Clempson?
WHY????
And how about them zebras? They call roughing the passer on Pitt, but then let Clemson get away with mauling Pitts QB.
But Narduzzi-face is nothing if not a coach who can lobby the refs. He's not wrong, but he's made a career out of that.
And I thought OUR OL was bad- both QBs were getting killed(sacks/hurries, and smashing hits even when they got their throws off.
Because we are a badly coached, bad team
LOL Klubnick just went 50 on a QB draw against the f***ing Narduzzis
Ya hate to see it.
/s
Worth it, if only to see resting Narduzzi face.
Klubnik was going to run it out, but he noticed he was lightly defended and went for it. Was the right choice. Completely deflated Pitt.
The Stunned silence at Pitt?
Priceless.
That's 2 occurrences of schadenfreude for me in the last 48 hours. Plus I had Pitt covering in this weeks pick 6. So I'm happy.
Been a tough day so I'll take it.
Not hard to be silent when you have fewer fans in the stands than a UVA Spring Game/Festival....
Sure, but the few who were there were singing like the Hoos in Hooville right up until Klubnik punched them in the mouth with that touchdown run.
That's totally something we would do.
He made the safety, #3 on Pitt, looks stupid on that run. Here's a great view of it:
The referee slowed down Klubnik more than the safety.
This is the beauty of college sports.
Chef's kiss.
Another beautiful thing about college football:
BYU's Jewish quarterback drove down the field to put them in a position to kick a game winning field goal at Southern Methodist back on Sept 6.
Clemson Pitt was fucking terrible
And...
... it's Pitt again.
Holy shit I would have never been able to pick todays version of Al Golden out of a lineup.
Pretty dull line up this week. Was pumped for navy v Tulane, but that didn't really pan out unfortunately.
Hoping Tennessee can beat Kirby Fart and his delegation of delinquent drivers.
Only question is...
Does he announce he's entering the Transfer Portal at Halftime or do the civil thing and wait til after the game??
/s (but just barely)
Is death valleys wifi is like lanes on GameDay, he'll have no choice but to wait.
NIL.
Where you don't have to listen to them ignorant coaches.
Exactly.
When I see the word 'entitled' I don't think of the players - I think BK. The idea that he thinks it's okay to talk to someone like this is ridiculous. If my boss talked to me like that, I'd
start swingingquit my job on the spot and find a new one immediately. Also, I'd never speak to a coworker, supervisor, or subordinate like that.No offense, but if you punch your boss you're going to be unemployed and in jail, I don't care what he says to you.
Yes, I was being quite hyperbolic, and that part of my comment was utterly ridiculous.

I guess I am paranoid enough that I would look and find a new job and then quit.
ND is teaching LOLuva. I'm not sure what they're learning. But ND is doin' some teachin'
Florida LSu tied at half. I'd like to see Florida win. I don't like Florida. But I don't like LSU more.
Napier right now

Boston College found a quarterback.
You can come back to this post in five years - Grayson James will be a legit NFL QB prospect and BC will be a threat if BOB can keep him around.
why would he still be playing for BC in 5 years? Expecting a court decision that eliminates eligibility limits?
Chances are he will be able to redshirt this year.
Stanford beats #19 Louisville with a last second FG after a Louisville player jumped offside to make it a 52-yard FG instead of 57 yards.
Only was a 57 harder because of a 15 yard Unsportsmanlike penalty with 1 second remaining.
LOL Louisville. I'm not sure how Louisville got bad enough to lose to Stanford
Not only that, they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
lets see if the fightin' shane beamers can close it out....
Looks like they can! Go Fightin' Beamers!
They did
Anybody comment on UVA benching Anthony Colandrea for Muskett for an entire half but saying they're still committed to him the rest of the season?
I mean the rest of their season is SMU and VT, I'm not sure it matters what they do, but I think Colander still gives them a shot while with Muskett they just lose playing 2 uninspired games.
New Mexico gets first ranked win in over 20 years! BYU also ends its undefeated season with some poor play calling inside the 15.
The BYU line was just off, and they kept hitting on it during GameDay. Kansas was getting only 2.5 on the road at an undefeated #6. Someone knew something, and they were right.
