Will be there with 4 friends. Grabbed some tickets right behind the team because I figured it would be cool to be close ($67 no fees through duke) but hope we can still see the game ok.

The Triangle Hokies alumni chapter will be there, but we couldn't get Duke to work with us over tickets for this one. There will be a tailgate in the Chemistry Lot.

Apparently after the last game we played there, the check we sent them to reimburse them for what we used was stolen in the mail (we verified it was cashed, but Duke never had it on their system as paid). We've spent years trying to make them good about it, and they won't return our calls or emails. So at this point I just don't expect them to be working with us going forward.

that's so weird. Unless, and this is a crazy stretch, the person you're trying to contact defrauded duke and cashed the check for themselves and that's why they are avoiding you
Also, it can't have been THAT much money, right? Like, we talking hundreds of dollars, thousands, tens of thousands?

Don't know the specifics since I'm not involved with the day to day of the chapter anymore (retired from that when the first kid was born) but we're only talking at most in the 4 figures. Significant for the chapter, but pennies for the Duke Athletic Dept. Which is why its so odd we can't get in touch with anyone. I don't even think Blacksburg had luck talking with them about it.
I mean its been a couple years now, so obviously they didn't care that much, but yeah, still a very odd situation.

Curious, have you considered just changing the name of the group that you use to purchase tickets? I mean if instead of Triangle Hokies Chapter, you just had someone call from ACC Road Crew and asked to purchase tickets, would they even know?
Don't need to change the name of the actual chapter. Just have someone call/e-mail as another group. The chapter could then reimburse that person.

For that reason we aren't doing the tailgate in the gym anymore and probably won't be buying in bulk from the school again.

Not worth thinking about it given we aren't scheduled to visit Duke again in the current rotation that lasts through 2030

Agreed! I attended Clemson for the in-state tuition and lottery scholarships, but never wavered as a Hokie.
I went to Radford and never Tech(just didn't work out for my time frame to graduate) but I'm still a Hokie.

There's a bunch of spaces in the chemistry lot and it's Hokie Central.
