Actually might be a blessing in disguise to get some young guys reps, he has built a decent roster behind the starters, in the bowl we'll get a good chance to evaluate where we're at (unless Minnesota is losing all of their guys).
Honestly wondering if he didnt get the draft grade he wouldve liked? I saw earlier on someone gave him a day 1 grade so I was expecting him to just declare for the draft...

Do you realize that once Bama's, UGAs, OSU's, LSU's, Oregon's, Penn State's corners declare for the draft, you will be a 6th round pick that projects as a safety? Maybe that's what happened. If it did, they did him a favor.

Pry is a car salesman who used his "pitch" last year and convinced everyone to come back.
That pitch is not ever going to work again.
Until Whit is gone, this program is going to bottom out due to terrible decisions made by Whit & Pry (with his terrible coordinator, position coach hirings). He was recruiting at a level that was good enough to improve the program if he hired the right coaches around him - and he failed to do that.
Sad state of the program.

I hate that I think this way too. I know some of the portal exits were part of processing, but the unexpected ones, they know the coaches are frauds. And players talk. I'm concerned about who the Hokies add.

I'm worried as well. Pry was able to sell a rebuild and show that the program was heading in the right direction last year. After this year, it looks like his vision is stuck in the mud with zero momentum. With a lack of player development and now some unexpected portal losses on the roster, the shine is off on Pry. I'm not sure what selling point he has for top talent at the moment.

ok ill stop you here. jerod has a special needs brother that he supports and had someone in his ear telling him he would get drafted. he should have known better but, as a parent of a special needs kid with the same diagnosis, under the circumstances i can get it.
bad situation all around, he should have surrounded himself with better people. doesnt mean we need to curse him. youre out of line.

If he hadn't been on the freshman All-American team his first year, I don't think I'd even really care that much because he got cooked multiple times per game early on this season, and didn't get past "serviceable" later in the season IMO.
Obviously it's a bit annoying because we know he had the potential for more, but since he never developed, is it really that big of a loss?

His replacement is likely on the roster now. We will have Lovett, Williams, and Johnson all coming back with game experience. All things being equal, I would rather have Delane back. But if we can pick up an experienced CB out of the portal and one of the young guys like our big flip DeLoatch can contribute, I feel okay out CB next season. Now OL and LB is a different story. . .

I'm in the same boat - I had already marked him gone in my mind assuming he was either going to the NFL or transferring to play his last year with his brother after we couldn't land him.

Does everyone now realize Pry is a fraud? Guy can talk but not much else. I think the secret is out now and players are bailing. Delane certainly had a disappointing year, but he has done nothing but regress each year under Pry. Would frankly fire him into the sun now, but with Whit at the helm and him tied to Pry, we have a lame duck year ahead of us. Going to be depressing watching us get throttled in the bowl and then Shane crushing us next year to open.

The mental jumping jacks required to now think Mansoor is not good is equivalent to wvu fans thinking Richrod is taking them back to the promise land. Kid had one bad game in 3 years of starting and will play in the league. He and Strong are the best corners the Hokies have had since Farley. I know we are all pissed, bummed out etc but...c'mon

This year he played far below expectations and was an average at best ACC corner. He got exposed a lot

He probably understands that he needs better coaching than what he's been getting in Blacksburg to maximize his draft potential. How could you fault him?
