Let's go
I guess we found our Imoh
From the Central Missouri Mules. Sweet mascot.
Kid runs like a mule. I'll take it
3 portal commits in 2 hours.
via GIPHY
3 RB commits in 2 hours
Did I miss something? Is Fuente back?
2 rbs and a DL -- one of the RBs got triple (!!!) posted here
We were all just on edge waiting for any news!
Also I needed an excuse to start drinking at noon
3.5 hours left until I am done with work for the year.
I thought I was here too...but if government gets shutdown, I am essential personnel so all my leave would be cancelled, I will be working without paychecks until next CR is passed and I get to fight to get my use or lose leave back. Fun times
My thought is if the government shuts down, it will go through Jan. 20th.
I tend to agree and it will take another week after that before they pass a CR. Then the government pay system will take two to three weeks after that to send checks. Military and government civilians staring at potential of 2 months of no checks.
I have hopes that some common sense will prevail and something will get passed. Both parties will look bad if some kind of compromise can't be reached.
Thankfully it looks like that happened! I'm a federal employee so I've been watching this like a hawk, too
I was kind of hoping for a Congressionally sponsored vacation, but also realize that's really hard on a lot of people. It's good they passed something. They still have to do something with the debt ceiling in early January though.
It's hard on local businesses too though. During one shutdown when I worked at a restaurant in NOVA, we didn't have any business almost at all. The entire front of house staff was really struggling some people almost didn't make rent.
Yeah - good point, and I'm sure it impacts the entire DC area a lot more, and as you point out, the effects spread out from federal employees. Contractors may be let go depending on how long it would go, nobody spends any money to try to make sure they can pay things like rent and car payments, etc.
It really screws up contractors too because sowm things are funded and others aren't so if youre on a funded program they try to put all the best people on the program to keep them employed and then nothing gets done because they don't have any idea what's going on and your budget gets blown by work that was scoped for people that were going to be there a while so in 2 months you have to get all new people ramped up to backfill everyone that went back to their original program, so it cost a lot more because of double ramp up times. So then your left with the bag at the end, and you can't point out to senior management that the 5 Rockstars they put on your program didn't help because that's saying they aren't Rockstars. Which no one is in 2 months for a program they dont know.
I'm a WEP payer so I was watching the Senate vote right before the CR!
Who needs an excuse? /s ...sorta
Reading for comprehension was never one of my strong points.
Thanks for the correction GGC. That's why Joe pays you the big bucks.
I think it means PJ is out for next year. So the stable would only be R-Fr Mason, R-So Coney, and true freshman Overton. Add Stewart and you're still a little shallow.
Im sure there is a plan. I hope its deeper than hoping Bashul Tuten lighting strikes twice.
Herbert, Tuten, Stewart. Transfer portal rbs have been great here.
Seems like Hawkins is a multi year back to build around.
That said we still definitely need some lineman here at some point
Herbert was from a P4 program. The only lower division dude was Tuten... my point.
I guess KU is technically a P4 program
They have been every bit as good/better than we have been since Leipold got there
Herbert was pre Leipold
Brooks has put three straight starting backs into the NFL. In Elijah we trust.
Agreed- and w are going to run the ball-so these guys will get a shot.
Okay, i can see taking 1 seasoned RB but 2? And no OL yet? This is kind of concerning. There are much bigger needs right now than adding multiple bodies to the RB room and taking a "developmental" DL. Not looking good
At this point, with new commits, portal and graduation, we are around 73 scholarships right now. It's clear they are working towards 105. That leaves 32 scholarships remaining.
He'll have 2 or 3 years of eligibility I'm cool with taking that
Plus Cam Seldon is on campus, although I would like to see him at the STAR or at a receiver spot instead of tailback. He ran kind of upright and it resulted in some injuries at Tennessee.
Yes, more RB's!!I guess we'll need quite a few running behind that vaunted experienced o-line we have.....
I remember him!
