Apparently Dax Hollifield was at the VT bowl game practice taking a break from his job as a jackman for Hendrick Motors. I always liked Dax's energy and the way he played at VT. Glad he found something he likes doing.
From the article, NASCAR recruits a lot of football players and wrestlers to become jackmen. The pit crew development coach for Hendrick Motors coached Dax's dad at Wake Forest.

Nice article, thanks. I like the intersection of Auto Racing and Football (basically the only two sports I give any real attention).
And he is with a deep (probably the deepest) organization with Hendrick. He should have plenty of opportunities.
Great friend of mine is a high end dentist (meaning does total reconstruction/cases- not cavities) in Charlotte. He has worked on several NFL players that either were on the Panthers or in their camp that then went to NASCAR to work. To a man they said NASCAR weight training and cardio was much tougher than the NFL. Those guys are beasts.
Just curious: does this high-end dentist balk at picking up the tab after dinner?
Dax is one of those guys, like Herbert and Tuten, that deserved a hell of a lot more than what they were given while they were here.
