I mean, what are the basis? OSU, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Texas are in the top 5. I've been to games at Ohio St and LSU and had a blast. Barstool just asked ChatGPT to spit out some crap that would get some clicks. Mission accomplished.

When we went to the VT Bama game in Atlanta a drunk Bama fan behind me kept going with: "What's a Hokie!?!", over and over. My wife asked me not to engage over n over. By early 3rd qtr I was done with his ass. I told him "The key to ur mama's room!". We almost lit it up, but others around us grabbed both of us. He was a complete tool, from his attitude the entire game, im not sure he was an alumni.

We had a similar experience in Atlanta, but it was a group of douches, not just one.
That's not even the worst interaction I've had with Bama fans, by far. Pretty sure I have told this story before on TKP, but I had an Alabama fan break-check me on I-20 outside Tuscaloosa when I was driving a charter bus filled with people they THOUGHT were Tennessee fans or the team. Toying with people's lives over college football is far beyond the pale.

I've been trying to think lately given this world of billion dollar NIL collectives- that was there ever a time in history where irrational passion for something - donating extra to your college to keep their punter for next year- ever died down? Disco? Cigarette smoking? People point to NASCAR and WWF/WWE, etc. It's an interesting thought. College football fandom is irrational in most places now, IMO. Flat irrational. I sat with 2 PSU fans post boise game at a bar. They were frantically on their phone trying to buy tickets for the game in Miami at any cost. She was looking up flights and complaining about the cost. Through other conversation- I didn't see their W2s of course- but this was a normal working class couple- she was a teacher. Sure, they could have millions in inheritance, etc- you never know- but the conversation was complaining about the costs but we must go- that was clearly the tone. It's out of control now, IMO.

Even when under the context of athletic programs/football? That was more of my point. I'm aware of Colorado's state campuses, but I didn't think any other school in the state had any kind of athletics outside of Colorado St.
