I did a little deep dive into the careers of the coaches at Virginia Tech to see A.) who is the best against the Top 25 and B.) how good Tech is overall against the Top 25.
The results were not good, and in some cases, surprising.

Depending on the metric, Duffy is our 🐐. Sample size be damned.
Duffy is doing pretty well so far.
Go Hokies.
I'd be curious what Kenny's records are years 1-4 vs 5-8. You look at his ACC record over the second half of his tenure and it JUMPS up, so it wouldn't shock me if that tracks closely with ranked wins etc.
A quick scan of year one for Kenny had him at 1-8 against ranked opponents. He was also at one point 15-0 with a ranked win that season though. I don't have a real point here, just some extra context. Small sample size, they look pretty decent so far though.
I just want to confirm the vs Top 10 records encompasses the Top 5 records as well or is it excluding the games already counted?
Yes, each successive statistic is inclusive of all preceding statistics.
