Commonwealth Clash
Hokies are coming off a great win. Why great? They dominated the first half but got a lot of help from self inflicted Seminoles mistakes. It was a great win though because after FSU mounted a comeback to close it to a 6 point game with about 8 minutes to go and all the indicators of another Stanford game, they righted the ship. They stretched the lead back to as many as 15 in what would be a 76-66 win ON THE ROAD. Now they need to find a bit more road magic to win the Commonwealth Clash.

Virginia comes into this one after a 2-6 January. They are 3-7 overall in the ACC. Wins against NC State, Miami and Boston College. Losses were to SMU twice, Notre Dame, Louisville twice, Cal, and Stanford.
Tony Bennett knew what he was doing deciding to move on. Not much has changed in the Boohoos style of play. They still play the pack line defense and still rely on shooters to keep them in games offensively. That said, this is a slightly bigger lineup than normal for Virginia, with three Forwards rotating but scoring. They may be a bit taller but they are also slower, more so on defense. Poor zone realignment due to ball movement has left shooters open against the Cavaliers.
Isaac McKneely and Elijah Saunders are the only double-digit scorers for Virginia. As a team, they only average 63 points per game in conference play. They do however shoot 37% from the perimeter which could be an issue. McKneely, Saunders and Murray all shoot above 40%.
They take the fewest field goal attempts in the ACC but hold opponents to the 2nd fewest attempts. The Hokies need to find some transition baskets to separate from the snail pace.
This is a very winnable game but as always it comes down to consistent scoring in the second half, which always seems to be a challenge.

Let's Go
Hokies!
Winnable game for the Hokies!
Eat heaping helpings of dog shit loluva...
That is all.
Updated
Gametime...LETS GO
Was pissed at first they weren't switching to our game but watching FSU blow a 10 point lead to BC with 2 minutes left has been gold.
Wow Saunders being out is a big deal for UVA
Poteat can't make layups
Because he doesn't get layups...he tries those awful floating hooks. If he would just go to the rim he would either score or get to the line
Redacted, layups were made, bunnies from two feet and hooks were not
The ONLY THING UVA IS GOOD AT IS SHOOTING THREES. Cover the F ing perimeter
Fucking hell
Refs are calling everything but I'm happy it's at least consistent both ways
No idea where the foul on Lawal was....that was phantom
Hammond just got bodied to the floor
This is a bullshit review. It totally was a crowd reaction gimme by the officials
Yeah, Robinson hooked and pulled Poteat's elbow right into his own face.
Good first half.
Halftime good stats:
FG 12-24 (50%)
3-PT FG 5-9 (55.6%)
FT 9-10 (90%)
Leading rebounds 17-14
Leading points in the paint 14-4
Only four turnovers
Got to keep it up in the second half.
That basket should not have counted with when the whistle was blown. Should have been on the floor.
Good thing Hokies on fire from outside
UVA giving us wide open looks. Great to see us knocking them down.
Rechsteiner is really brain dead sometimes. Can't even give him that kick out chance
Maybe we can bully the refs into a review like UVA fans dude against poteat
Virginia should have been called for a moving screen on that dunk
I mean....these guys could finish the season strong if they played with this level of efficiency
Or if all their games were against this type of loluva ineptitude!
That Rechsteiner pass looked bad...but Lawal got pushed forward when ball was in air with no whistle
Now the calls are becoming one sided...
Johnson had that ball clean. McKneely went underneath at the last moment
3 minute scoring drought...where have we heard that before
AYO
AYO?
Wow some bullshit over the back calls
What bullshit
Wow
Make free throws though... seriously... major gagging... 1 for the last 6
This
Is the move to foul on purpose here
Bottom line though....free throws made and it's over
Anybody wanna explain why Mike Young doesn't call timeout there? Is he aware he is supposed to coach still?
He doesn't have it in his budget to use all timeouts this year. Thanks football NIL!
Lucky to not get called a shooting foul
Wow heart attack
Near heart attack. Gotta make free throws.
JC make your free throws this game ain't even close.
Run to the bus and get outta there.... tried so so hard to gag and got lucky. One for the last eight free throws. Yikes. No confidence or value add by Mike Young down the stretch there. The coach has to do more to help out in those high leverage situations. A timeout to settle the team is just standard there.
