He will be the associate director of strength and conditioning with nearly 20 years of experience in the field.
He was a Hokie from 2002-2006.
The part of his background I found most interesting was his time at Camp Lejeune training Marines Special Operators.

Training Marine Special Operators... Our guys are going to get lessons on building practical strength and endurance that they might not enjoy.
Embrace the suck!
RIP Gunny.
Honestly, I doubt it. I haven't worked with MARSOC trainers personally but i have with the Army SOF trainers and they are super chill. Way less intense than you would think.
There's an expectation that the individual is highly self-motivated, and just needs training.
Now, the workouts themselves can often be miserable, but the coaches don't need to be.
Well sounds like he understands functional strength over beach build.
Everything looks like this could be a great hire.
Maybe let him start the real work after the spring xfer portal closes
Nah, winter workouts need to be like the weed-out courses. Find out who is going to put in the work. We have lost the S&C battle for a decade now
And that's also part of the mentality problem.
