I am just glad that the purple and gold tourney they are playing in is hosted by LSU and not ECU.
Ha! I was thinking the same thing when I opened the thread
Lets take it to 9-0 with no runs against.
If we can do that you'd be certifiable not to have the Hokies in the top 10
Still in play! 2 to go
Let's all enjoy this while its a scholarship sport.
Lady Hokies beat UT Arlington 8-0. Still have not allowed a run this season. Pitchers only allowed 2 hits and had 7 strikeouts. They take on Northwestern at 2:30 PM
Ladies up 2-0 through 4th on Northwestern.
3-0 after middle of 5th
Still 3-0 going to the 7th
Looks like another perfect game for Lemley, right?!
I just logged on to ask the same question. By the box score it certainly looks like it!
Yes
16 SOs vs 21 batters!
Lemley completes another perfect game
It will be interesting to see how LSU does against the same opponents later today. But regardless it's a shutout win against the 21st ranked team. Nicely done. FAM!
Edit: corrected ranking
7-0, still yet to give up a run and this time a ranked opponent
46 IP
0 Runs Allowed
8-0 record
12 runners left in scoring position.
Another win, another shutout!
This evening will tell a better story of whether we're an actual contender or just a pretender. Facing a top 10 and undefeated LSU whose schedule up to this point has been much like ours.
Edit: Lemley did not pitch in the first game today so I would think she gets the nod vs LSU
Edit 2: Mazzarone gets the start
Scoreless streak ends in 1st inning against LSU but ERA is still 0 as Hokies give up an unearned run.
7-0 LSU in the 4th. Not what we were hoping for.
2-7 final. Not a good showing this evening
This is why your play in the tournaments, to get a few tough games in early. Hopefully the team learned a few things and identified some weaknesses to fix.
We play LSU again today at 12:30. I imagine Emma will be pitching. Hopefully, a better overall showing.
Go Hokies!
Way too many mistakes today to beat a good team.
2 dropped balls in the outfield. It does look windy but still.
