I liked the Buzz Williams hire based on his coaching chops, firey personality, and winning track record. But mocking WVU on the road dancing to John Denver just warms my heart. Fantastic.

I just finally watched this clip. He danced across the court and barely grazed their logo. He clearly had no intentions to do so. It's not like he did a TO on the star or anything. They really need to have something better to bitch about.
Most coaches treat their job like some holy fraternity; never saying anything bad about each other and never stirring the pot. I would have liked it better if he did The Dougie at center court right on that stupid blue logo. I like how he didn't even blink when the students went nuts, didn't back off it; just went about his business. Love it.
As if we needed another reason to warm to Buzz. I want him to start making vague WVU related insults at pressers, like responding to a stupid question with "I dunno, that seems dumber than putting a monorail in a couchfire of a town"
If WVU hates him, he's the right man for the job.

I live in Cville and was out with some friends...they started talking about the game tonight, and then they chuckled and started going off about Buzz being a horrible new hire for VT and making fun of his press conference....

I know it can be exaggerated sometimes when it comes to rivalries, but WVU fans represent themselves in such a poor manner it's hard to disagree. The way they are pitching a fit, screaming and throwing things behind the TV announcers is completely embarrassing.
I have absolutely zero love lost for them. For as much as people like to bring up Marcus Vick's actions during the WVU game in 2005, with flicking off the fans on TV, many forget the reasoning behind the actions. Their student section was calling him a 'fucking n****r' all game long, and if I remember correctly, there were reports of someone tossing a banana at him. And the WVU administration... what did they do to curtail such actions? They blamed Vick and then eventually allowed alcohol sales at the stadium.... yep. Mind you, at this point, our own football team and fans that went to the away games at WVU had dealt with batteries thrown at them, full cups of beer and soda dumped on fans in the freezing cold, metal trash cans were hurled at players on our bench, and they mob attacked our buses before and after games.
For everyone that clamored to have that school in the ACC, THIS is why I wanted them to rot as a whole. They had their chance, and they showed what kind of fanbase they are. Their administration not only doesn't care about just how much of a cesspool they have become, but they actually take pride in it. Watching them rot in the doomed to dissolve Big 12 is extremely enjoyable.
Not to mention the bags of urine that they throw at people. The players had to wear their helmets to go out to the coin toss in order to not get hit with batteries. Even women and children are not safe from the abuse.
I'm with you. Whenever someone brings up WVU in a future ACC member discussion, said person should be shunned from the remainder of the conversation and their opinions routinely ignored.
Send them to the kennel. Give them a cone of shame. Or just move their post to TSL. Wow.

i was hit by one of said bags during the last game in Morgantown, I hated every second of that game and vowed to never enter that state again if i could pull it off.
Morgantown does not equal the state. Trust me on that.
In fact, NRV is not really any different than a lot of WV.
It doesn't stop in the stadium either. I know a few different people who stopped going to the WVU games at Morgantown because they returned to their cars after the games to find slashed tires and key scratches all over their car.
With regards to Marcus, I can understand his actions that game, to an extent. I can't, however, understand his actions in the bowl game, other than to lump him in with the "punk kid living in his brother's shadow" crowd.
rule #1 when it comes to attending away games in Morgantown... rent a car and leave yours at home.

No, rule #1 is - never attend a game in Morganhole. Why attend the game if you can't cheer for your team? As soon as you try to cheer, you will spend the rest of the game being verbally and physically assaulted. As soon as you exit your car not wearing blue & gold, your car will be targeted.
I've yet to understand why anyone would subject themselves to the abuse. There's just nothing to be gained, unless one revels in altercations with drunken idiots.
They usually skip the bags and pee right in their empty beer cups and then just throw those down.

If it were up to me, wvu wouldnt be part of West Virginia. They have the audacity to call it the "flagship" of the state. Give me a break and get out of my state
