Jayden McDonald, Redshirt Senior Linebacker to enter Tranfer Portal

The twins are both leaving it appears. Was down the depth chart but Hokies are thin at linebacker.

Example 345556778898 of overvaluing projects... why? they were from VirGINia...

I really do think Whit should bring you on board as GM

I been here since day 0.

What does Whit have to lose? Besides late game collapses and bowl games?

Duplicate numbers.

My wife takes the kids and leaves the house while I watch my Hokie games.........nuff said

To be fair, numbers number the same.

Would never be an issue if I was head coach. The most easy fix in VT football history, yet we refuse to do it and risk losing games because of it.

They weren't overvalued, they were late cycle (signing day?) flips from Louisiana Lafayette and were probably Plan D players as Fuente was flailing to hang onto his job

Right, and they were on scholarship as plan D guys, why?

Because ULL was offering a scholarship and we would have been on to plan E of we didn't offer a scholarship.

Fair point

How the hell does he have two years left? Hasn't he been here for 6 or so?

Only has stats in 2022 and 2023.
Medical Redshirt for 2024. Hokies profile only starts in 2022 as well. Think he redshirted in 2021.

I honestly can't believe this question is asked anymore.

four years, one of which was redshirted and the other was a medical redshirt.

So he has a potential second year of eligibility left, has he'll have to petition the NCAA for that year after he has exhausted his eligibility (after one more year).

Which means, since he won't be playing for VT, he'll have a guaranteed two years of eligibility left.

yes it's an assumption of the medical redshirt. twin brother Jorden only has one year left as R-SR

From now on roster-wise, it is one for one to hit the 105 number. A couple of guys I am still expecting to go (Cam Flemming- the move to linebacker at 205 and then not beating out Ballance is a sign), maybe one of the OL who have been in the program a couple of years and aren't progressing, etc.

You called the McDonald transfer a few months ago

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

I can't believe they didn't transfer out before Spring. Their dad sat next to us early in the year and quickly made it known he didn't want his sons playing for Pry and co.

Did he spill any more tea??

It was just typical parent upset about playing time stuff.

The sad thing is that when I read this "maybe one of the OL who have been in the program a couple of years and aren't progressing" my immediate thought was wouldn't that include every offensive lineman we have that has been in the program a couple of years?

I'm sure some have shown some benefit. I have no ability to rate them like you and others have. But it gave me a real 'ugh' moment.

7 of then15 our freshmen, another 4 sophomores, so it's not like there are that many been here a while.

Man it feels even worse that his post includes a photo of him leaving Lane. It's not like it changes anything haha just feels more sad that dudes who suit up for tech are literally walking out the door

I have no problem with how things played out here. Two local kids that were borderline D1 players and would need a few years to be developed. They played backup roles on scholarship and decided they wanted more PT and realized they weren't going to beat out the guys ahead of them here, which is a good thing! We should be able to recruit over them! I wish them both the best of luck and thank them for being solid depth players and putting in the work without getting the limelight.

My thoughts exactly.
