athletic 7 footer...very nice upgrade, imo

Can't argue with that. Yeah, highlight reel and all, but looks fairly accomplished and active with defensive chops. And, of course, 7' and 22. Pay the man.
can't imagine him staying that long but has 4 years of eligibility...or maybe infinite years, lol
I am with you. not sure how to feel about this one, just be glad we get him for a year or two?
Do we have anyone for more than a year or two any more?
Does anyone?
Actually one of the analysts, think Tim Thomas said he doesn't have 4 due to his age. No idea where he pulled that from
Dude has touch, can move, cherishes the ball when he gets it, and has an attitude. Sweet get!
How'd we do this? Who else was after him?
Watching that clip feels like Dorn plays the way we all expected (or hoped) Wessler to develop into
Exactly my thoughts as I watched the highlights. Wessler had a few of the moves, but Dorn seems to have more of them.
Gute fahrt!
Well, thanks for that. I was immediately transported back to Germany, 1971 and a night I got into a bratwurst eating contest with a congenial German guy named Gerd I'd just met. Both of us accounted well for ourselves, and at that age I could eat like a pig, but it wasn't long before my constitution decided it a bad idea. Further description would include some monumental gas, but I'll spare you the rest.

I think we're all going to need to hear the rest of this story now.
With all due respect, no, no you don't want to hear the rest of this story.
Watched the highlights....Wait, you mean to tell me we finally have someone who will actually just dunk the fucking basketball when they're STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO THE BASKET?
I can't believe it.
This was my same exact thoughts after watching his highlight tape. I've seen too many people that size/height who never go up strong or just goes for the soft touch/layup.
Just go up strong and dunk the fucking ball.
Right? You either make the dunk, or get fouled, or both!
Coming out of about the third best league in Europe. Was a reserve to start the season which skews his numbers. Had double digit scoring in 13 of their last 17 games when he became the starter.
He definitely has crossed the magical length border. Now I'm left wondering if he lies with Joe Spinks. With Joe Spinks, man! #IYKYK
Do we have to add an additional 25% to his NIL deal for the tariffs?
Only if you want to keep him in German cars.
Are foreign players allowed to get NIL yet or have they started applying for work visas instead of student visas?
LMFAO at any pay rules. He will get his money.
They have figured out ways to have them perform tasks outside the US to pay them. Amoore did the same type of thing.
Dorn will have a side job mowing Mike Young's lawn for $700k USD
Meh, just file suit. A judge has already ruled you can't hinder pay in any way.
That's against NCAA. Visa rules are federal laws so doubt a judge is going to side with them there.
The Dude plays with 'tude!
Still not as tall as Bucky Hodges!
What's his glove size?
He is surprisingly fast, fluid, a little acrobatic, and athletic.
.....And, he drained a 3.
2 of them in that video....
those 2 might have been all of his 3's for the season
I'm actually more impressed with his athleticism...hardly a statue...and how aggressively he goes after the ball when it's headed his way. he may have to dial back the push off thing but better that than waiting passively. he's got "gimme the damn ball" written all over him (in German of course). MY will work on his passing...zero evidence of that in the video clips. the offense he was playing in had no movement so that will be new to him.
Gibst mir den verdammten ball
*Gib mir
"Gibst" is more descriptive/narrative. "[You] are giving me the ball."
"Gib" is the imperative form.
I learned something today. Glad I knocked this week's goal out early...
Antonio "Apple" Dorn.
He's a big ol' fuck off "Deutschman"
Now UVA went out to get a 7 foot German
He is my neighbor UVA. He is pain in my assholes. I get German 7 footer, he must get German 7 footer. I get a win against him in basketball, he must get a win against me in basketball. I get a win against him in football, he cannot afford. Great success!
We get a 22 year old project that has peaked, they get an NBA level player- of fucking course.
Very nice
Best comment I've read in a long time.
Odom's track record with international players isn't the only factor working in Virginia's favor, though. This season, Johann Grünloh has been teammates with former Virginia forward Jayden Gardner, who joined SC Rasta Vechta in 2024. Gardner and Grünloh have been the team's starting front court tandem in every game this season.

Interesting that college basketball is now recruiting from the pros.
So much for that whole amateur status thing.
No sweat. He'll soon be infected with the smug entitlement that goes along with the UVA way from soup to nuts. It will be an interesting twist to the games with them, I'll admit. The University, the grounds, the Lawn, the Corner, it'll all sink in and he'll wish he'd come to VT for a twin tower kind of thing. Hey, a guy can dream, right?
Oh, one must not forget the rotunda filled with ascots and argyle sweater vests in various pastels.
And one must attend the Foxfield races, where butlers still serve on silver platters for the landed gentry.
