Hokies got swept by FSU. Plenty of chances to score but didn't. No surprise they dropped out of the rankings after a 1-3 week with the win over #20 Troy.
This week they play at ETSU at 5pm on Tuesday. Host #12 UNC (28-8) Friday 6pm ACCNX, Saturday 3pm ACCNX, and Sunday 1pm on ACC Network.

Did the game last night happen?
Hokies won 11-4.
It wasn't broadcast. Guess ETSU doesn't have baseball broadcasts
Nine Hokies got hits, Cooke and Watson homered. Watson, Lutterman, Gibson and Grady had RBI doubles. Bottom of the order produced 4-for-9 hitting with six runs scored, five RBIs, four walks and three doubles.
Are we on track to make the ACC tournament?
Tied with four other teams for 7th at 9-9 in ACC play so yes.
Boston College at 7-11 is last team in currently.

End of 8th got a bit crazy and saw Coach Szefc and two players ejected plus a coach from the UNC side.
Hokies got a two run homer from Davis. Davis then got ejected. Coach and another player ejected between innings.
Manning sets them down 1-2-3 inning in the 9th. Gets last out on a full count looking strike 3 that's sets off the Tarholes

That was a chippy game, for sure. Glad we hung on, but Davis definitely shouldn't have flipped his bat like he did. Other than that, not sure why we were the most penalized. Coach was pissed to the max, and I'm not surprised he got tossed. Looked like their head coach was tossed as well. Tomorrow will be interesting, if nothing else.
Some clarity on why Coach got tossed. Earned every bit of it. He thought UNC threw at French after Davis HR. Umpires didn't throw the UNC pitcher out of the game which set Szefc off.
Sure looked like a bean ball to me. Definitely, as I stated above, Davis was out of line after hitting his homer, stylin' and profilin', aggressively flip-throwing his bat and taunting as he piddled his way to first, but that pitch to French was just too obvious not to have been a reason for dismissal. Man, would I love to be there sitting in those stands today. Just hope our best are ready to get them again. We need hot hands and cool heads. GO HOKIES!!!
You can tell the UNC catcher was running his mouth the last two days. Most of the shit talking from Hokies hitters yesterday was directed right at him.
