Not quite - Megan Gustafson was the Aces backup center coming into this season but is out indefinitely after a leg injury. Liz has slid into her spot.
Liz is backing up A'ja Wilson, the current reining WNBA MVP. Unless they go with a double big lineup or there's another injury, LIz will be playing a lot of mop up duty this year.

Is Kitley's knee just totally cooked? I know the WNBA is loaded with talent and there's limited spots, but they just had an expansion draft with 2 teams. Figured she'd be the type of player to take a gamble on but nope, she didn't get selected. Though I guess technically she's a free agent and the expansion draft is selecting players from other teams. Maybe she'll sign at some point later.
TLDR, with ever more expansion teams coming into the league, I would think there's gotta be a spot for her somewhere.

My thoughts exactly. I love her to the max and would have loved to see her play on, but even without the knee injury, I didn't see her as being more than a bit player in the WNBA. That said, I wish we had a couple more just like her on every Hokie women's team every year.

Her work in broadcasting keeps expanding so wondering if its getting to the point a return to WNBA doesnt make sense, although the new CBA the WNBA players just signed may change that.
She is still working for Duffy as an assistant but also has a podcast with ACC Network called "The Bigger Deal" as well as making regular appearances on ACC Network for women's basketball. Not sure if she is also working towards medical school.

Go Liz!!
Easing her back in. I hope she does big things.
If I remember right her starting team already lost their starting Center so she is going to get more opportunities.

I sit corrected. I knew a Center was out for the year. I wasn't aware they were keeping three.
i love it- you don't often see the 'present perfect' tense used and even more rare to use correctly!
Congrats, Liz!
Kitley was signed today to a 7 day hardship contract by Golden State.

I think that her limited mobility really stopd out when she had to face athletic bigs every game
Yes you are correct. It's wild that there isn't a world where Elissa Cuinane or Liz Kitley can be effective in the WNBA.
