Down 21 to ODU and not a lack of urgency with this staff.
Bad coaching, bad playcalling, and no answers to how to respond to the other team on either side of the ball.
This bum needs to leave Lans Stadium unemployed.
The fanbase doesn't deserve this.

Good news is we still have a chance to keep them under 700 yards of offense if they stop trying
Somebody just caught the midnight rider.
Sad part is with how little urgency we have on offense, even if we kept them scoreless from here out we probably lose
Gotta make sure we aren't too tired in the 4th to make it a 3 score game /s
Cover 3 was right this whole time wow. And I thought they weren't working with enough information but they kind of nailed it
What'd cover 3 say? Specifically Bud lol
Bud said our portal class didn't have any good players and the staff got constantly out coached last year, so knowing those two things he didn't care about any of the other stuff coming out about us in camp.
The rest of the crew, mainly Tom said the vibes were terrible and we would be looking for a new coach by October.
Stephen Godfrey seemed to have better sources than even Tech media because he said even last year before the season that he heard Pry was awful and things were trending towards him getting fired
Yeah, since July Bud and Tom were working under the assumption the team would quit and we'd fire Pry sometime midseason. I actually DM'd Bud after the SCAR game and said midseason firings is just not how the BOV & boosters are wired and unless things got really really bad, like losing the first 3 and maybe going into mid-October we only had 1 win, bad Pry would get another year. Looks like we're in that really really bad scenario.
Thanks.
Cover 3 is such an enigma to me. Bud is probably the smartest media in college football (when it comes to personnel at least) and the other guys on the show are kinda idiots. I really want Bud to go to a show with smarter folks.
Budbot is insightful. I think the other guys are smart too, they all bring a slightly different perspective that holistically gives me a good sense about what is going on throughout the country.
The other thing is prior to the season I asked Bud what he thought of VT, and he said losing Delane, Chaplin, and to a lesser extent B. Moore was a big problem and we're one of the few schools that didn't retain talent through rev share. Most other schools retained the guys they really wanted to keep, we did too for a lot of guys but not critical OL and a CB who's now leading LSUs defense.
The penalties are also crazy... team playing with no discipline. Thats on coaching.
I can't believe we pay players to play like this either.
The White Sox pay players too
Just listened to pry in the press conference. Sounded like a beaten man with no answers and nothing of substance to say.
He has nothing going from here on out.
There really is no "look at the bright side" here.
The only bright side was Seifkis benching the starting D line. Yeah we still got beat up, but that should be the common practice.... you dont perform, you get benched
There's truth in that.
And Pry got the ultimate benching.
Lame duck
Just put him out of his misery. Lets be sympathetic about this.
The interview going into the 4th quarter seemed the same. Just a guy who knows he's waiting for the call into the office.
I wonder what Pry said after the usc game that made them call a players only meeting. He im his press conference after getting blown out at home by ODU saying the roster is better but not good enough. Bet he told them its their fault they lost that game. Dude turned out to be a snake oil salesman.
The roster is worse than what he had in his first year. We have no DBs worth anything, we have no one that resembles a LB. The Dline is okay. Our Oline is bad, our QB isnt good. Our RBs actually look okay for not having an Oline. And while we have more than one reciever, it doesn't matter when they are slow and no one cant get them the ball.
Their routes look like they are in slow motion
Let me say that in today's environment the caption is inappropriate. While I concur that Pry should be let go I don't think he is effing garbage. To the contrary I truly believe he is a good person who deeply cares about VT and wants the team to succeed.
O ahree w this, but he has no idea how to get accountability out of his players. He also has no situational awareness. Nice guy, but per the Peter Principle, he's beyond his capabilities. The fans should be respectful, but its time he goes and does something else.
Sorry you have a delicate stomach.
Obviously I meant as a coach. He seems like someone I could enjoy a beer with, but that isn't relevant in a football forum.
The outcome of the ODU game justifies the headline, but I nerfed it for you.
The whole hog saga (hoga?) was so strange to me
This whole thread has been strange to me. And as glad as I am that Pry has been fired, I don't think it's necessary to equate the man with garbage and to call him a bum. Just me.
he presents himself really well - I like the guy - he's not HC material though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Better title: "Pry's On-Field Product is F*cking Garbage"
Yep, and altogether true. But, who cares now?
Yeah, always seemed like a likeable guy and put in the effort everywhere but didnt see on-field results.
I will say, he made a comment in the last presser that seemed to kinda throw players under the bus a bit: "roster isnt just where we need it to be" or something like that. Like, ok, if thats the case, why such the hype beforehand? I *really* want to know what the players only meeting was about.
It's painfully obvious Pry was all bark and no bite at this point. Each year he told us the roster was better than before in the offseason, going so far as to say this past offseason that this was the deepest most complete roster he has had at VT. Then the bottom just fell out. I think the plan with Pry was just to say good stuff/have good vibes and hope and pray it somehow worked out.
