5 Star VT Recruit Tim Settle to Visit PSU This Weekend

I was hoping he would be in Blacksburg this weekend. Perhaps we will have the chance to get him for our Spring Game.

Penn State will get its chance to leave a favorable impression with likely a long way to in Settles recruitment. But coach James Franklin has made the most of weekend visits early in the 2015 cycle with more overall commitments (11) and more four-star commitments (8) than any other program in the nation.

Franklin has really done a great job so far with recruiting top talent. According to 247sports.com, Penn State is ranked #2 Nationally to date for their 2015 recruiting class. Remember, these guys that are committing to PSU for 2015 are not seeing many repercussions from the sanctions and will be able to play in bowl games beginning in 2016.

I never saw the comment but turkey leg for removing it!

Also, it's Penn State, so I can probably guess which vein you were in.

He visited for the last junior day, has probably visited Tech more than any other school, and will probably visit for the Spring Game. I'd say we are sitting pretty well with him at the moment.

Also since this a recruiting thread just wanted to put out there that 247 has upgraded Mook Reynolds to a 4 star and the number 197 player in the nation!

In Sam Rogers we trust.

At this time last year, we were the overwhelming favorite to land DaShawn Hand. We ended up not even making his Top 3.

Things change. Don't ever... EVER get emotionally wrapped up in recruiting.

Agree with you completely. The last year taught me that. I found myself getting angry when guys went elsewhere. Now I just take it as it happens...we have no control over it. I just put my faith in the coaches and hope it goes well. You have to go with the mentality that we want guys who want to be in Blacksburg...

This is my way of staying detached from recruiting. I am going to root for Virginia Tech regardless of who is wearing that orange and maroon. Do I wish that our roster was full of 4 & 5 star guys, of course I do. A players ranking is not going to change the fact that for a minimum of 12 Saturdays in the fall I'll be cheering my ass off for the Hokies.

UVA: Jefferson's biggest mistake

@pbowman6

Was hoping that UMDs jump to the Big 10 that a lot more guys from the region would start to funnel down to Blacksburg. Franklin seems like a photo-negative of Dabo Swinney. Young, Energetic, and can recruit with the best of them. Will be interesting to see if they can overcome the scholarship limits and contend quickly. Shane and Moorehead better start choppin some serious wood.

The Dude Abides

I agree - since Franklin was at Maryland before Vandy, he has a foot in this territory already, which has given him a boost so far in recruiting...

We got Ricky DeBerry visiting this weekend.

If someone can tell me when he'll be coming up, I'll hang a banner on the overpass next to my house saying TIM SETTLE SHOULD GO TO VIRGINIA TECH.

Please make it happen and show us pictures! ....can horses use cameras?

"The Big Ten is always using excuses to cancel games with us. First Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin. After that, Wisconsin. The subsequent cancellation with Wisconsin comes to mind too. Now Penn State. What's next? Wisconsin?" -HorseOnATreadmill

No, we get others to do it for us.

Problem is, that overpass doesn't have walking areas safe for someone a horse's size. Plus, mad po po. Even if I got it up and got a picture, it would probably be taken down real quick.

If he's coming up today, it's probably too late. I don't have to make a banner.

Shouldn't you hang it over your stable instead?
Horses don't have houses...I also find it amazing that you can type with hooves.

That's why the fillies love him.
