DB Ashton White Discusses His Recruiting

Roman Stubbs from the Washington Post caught up with Virginia Tech recruit Ashton White. As you recall, White committed to Virginia Tech and then opened his recruitment back up.

I still felt like I had a lot of time, and I felt like I just wanted to open it upI still love VT. Theyre still definitely contenders but I just wanted to make sure I was 100 percent, White said.

Hopefully this is a good sign. If they can get White back in the mix, that is three prospects at the corner/free safety spot.

Translation: I want to see if a bigger offer is coming in.

Either that or: I want to enjoy the fruits and spoils of the recruitment process all the while knowing inside that I'm mentally committed to VT. At least, that's what I'd do.

He's no good to me dead.

Well he better get back on the ship or he's going to get left at the dock....

How often do we actually rescind offers? I can't imagine a situation where an offer would be pulled aside from getting in legal or academic trouble before signing day.

We only have a limited amount of spots that Torrian has to work with as far as db schollies, he has identified his guys and they all know that we only have those numbers to work with, so its come aboard or risk getting your spot taken.

As far as rescinding an offer it would take a royal f-up by a prospect to get his schollie pulled.

Possibly, but I also wonder how many DBs the coaching staff will take this year, especially considering we already have commits from Duwayne Johnson and Mook Reynolds

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

Can't fault the kid for wanting to explore his options. And he was upfront about his status, which is nice to see. Hopefully he picks VT in the end.

Wiley, Brown, Russell, Drakeford, Gray, Banks, Prioleau, Charleton, Midget, Bird, McCadam, Pile, Hall, Green, Fuller, Williams, Hamilton, Rouse, Flowers, Harris, Chancellor, Carmichael, Hosley, Fuller, Exum, Jarrett

I would think VT wouldn't take but maybe 1 more corner, 2 max. So he may be left on the dock when the boat sails.
