You groaned when teams were able to sell their stadium names? It was bad when Bowl Games got a sponsorship deal?
How about Texas and Oklahoma selling the naming rights to the Red River Rivalry/Shootout?
It will now be the AT&T Red River Showdown.

Apparently AT&T had been the sponsor already for several years but now they have their name on it. Is this something that the ACC would have the rights to the money from if Tech were to participate in something like this or would the school receive all of the funding. Thinking Battle of Bristol, Commonwealth Cup, etc.
What are your thoughts?

This is on the heels of the Gator Bowl being renamed the Taxslayer Bowl.
WHAT??! That's just awful. Why can't they still keep the name of the bowl but tag on the sponsor's name to the front. I'll never call it the Taxslayer bowl...

This would have paid off nicely for AT&T if they were able to sponsor the game when it was two top-10 teams. Now its just another Big 12 game for the most part.
They have been sponsoring it previously, they just convinced the school's to let them put their name on it.
