Taking the 5 and 7 year old to Disney for fall break. Not sure I am saving any pain. Which is worse, watching VT football collapse in real time or getting bent over at every opportunity by the mouse while surrounded by entitled parents who think Disney has to be the greatest experience of their child's life, others be damned?

Personally, I'd rather see VT football collapse on TV than go to Disney. Cost is way, way less. What does it cost to take a family there for a day? $1,000, $2,000? Guess it depends if you are local or not and have to include all the travel costs.

110% agree. disney is the biggest scam/con/money pit/cash racket etc etc.
we go to seaworld and discovery cove for 1/3 the price for multiple days and enjoy ourselves 1000x more.

I'm spending my bye week volunteering at the bike valet for Go Fest in Roanoke this weekend. Seems like a more productive way to spend a weekend even if it wasn't a bye week.

When I was training for a half marathon (before my feet betrayed me), it was an evolving strategy. After the first time I had to run into the woods to shit behind a tree to save my underwear, I packed toilet paper the next time. Then I timed it so I ran by the rec center at about the right time. Then I figured out what sounds like your trick; wake up 30 min earlier and pound coffee until you get it out of your system before you run.
Also, I cordially invite anyone into the headspace of someone simultaneously clenching their ass to avoid disaster, scouting potential places they can duck off a trail to drop trou, watching if anyone is close enough to notice you run off the trail, and worried about how much this unplanned bathroom stop is going to impact your pace for this run.

Yeah - trying to flush the system before is my best strategy to date.
There are a few portajohns on the trail, but trying to time the run/pace to coincide with them is a fool's errand. Not to mention a mid-run-dump is a hellish experience. May as well do it straight out of the shower without drying off first then immediately raw dog 10 miles.

Disney: When you have to make commercials to try to convince people that you really can afford a vacation there, you're too expensive.

Oh my God. I remember seeing that commercial when it came out. Would be hilarious if they tried to make something like that today.

Bye week said he'd come by and help me set up Halloween decorations.
Spending the bye week doing a long run with the wife for marathon training.
Just need to time my coffee and energy gels so that I don't pull a Brent Pry (shit my pants in the last 25%).

Sad to say, but as a fellow distance runner (before the second knee operation ended that) and a hiker, I've had had this situation more than once.
Are we sure we're playing bye week this week???
If it's like most weeks, Bye Week is playing us.
TIL we have a bye week.
Thanks, Whit. You've killed my interest in this program.
Bye week has no chance of beating us.
Christian Ellis apparently disagrees.
BYE tried to run the Rutgers TE play, but got called for a false start.
BYE runs the tush push several times a game, and false starts every time (but it never gets called)
BYE week doesn't give out game sticks
Am I the only one that read this as
"Losin On Bye Week" and silently thought it was possible....
No 'Game Day thread' on TKP for bye week? It's a week we can't lose (though if it were, I'm certain WE would be the ones to do it first....)
We've lost bye weeks before. By not firing underperforming coaches
It's a bloodbath out there. good week to be on bye
Um, I'm pretty sure were not worried about upsets
Sadly, the odds seem forever not in our favor.
I was thinking more like 35+point losses vs the usual 14 point losses.
Sources close to bye week say there are high-level meetings to consider its coach's future.
