As I typed that Georgia State fumbled, it was returned for TD, but penalty for blind side block was called and then it went to review where the fumble was upheld which looked to be a really bad call.
South Alabama ball just inside the 50 with 4 minutes to go.

Then Georgia State allowed the first and goal so let South Alabama score on next play and they ran it in, leaving Georgia St with a timeout, and 1:49 left to go score. South Alabama could have milked it down to almost nothing and still has all their timeouts. Major Applewhite looking like Pry on clock management.

Looks like South Alabama is going to win after a blatant no call on defensive pass interference. Got called for one but not the next one. Really ready for college to adopt the NFL rule for PI being at the spot. The PI that was called would have been 55 yards but College makes it 15.

As a fan I'm biased to the college game but my thought was always "there's no guarantee he would have caught it, he doesn't get the free yards". But on the other hand he didn't get to try. *shrug*

Wow Charlotte gave up 27 points in the 4th Quarter to turn a one score game into a 34 point blowout. Allowed North Texas QB to go for 608 yards passing.

In other #goACC action, NCSU is getting waxed by Pitt.
Gonna be real interesting what happens with Doeren this offseason. They almost certainly aren't getting better under him but do they really want any piece of this coaching Carousel this year?

It was either that or let them run down the clock to a couple seconds and kick a game winner or score a TD. It was probably the technically best decision in order to have a chance to win, but all options were not good unless you wanted to bank on a missed field goal/block from your own 10ish yard line.

"Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic... but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now wecould do it with conventional weapons, but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part!
Bluto: We're just the guys to do it."
going to be big for the winning season/bowl-eligible hopefuls
Are there really any of those folks left?!
Like many VT fans, I tend to be a huge optimist (because of you don't have hope, what's the point of following a bad team), but at this point I don't see either.
I'd be ecstatic winning two of the last four (especially if one was in Lane North).

I thought there werenl 5 winnable games at the beginning of the season but we'd drop one of them because we'll... us. So we are right on track for my 4-8 prediction so I'm ecstatic with the cal win.

Did VT start this "shirtless student section waving their shirts around" thing? I've seen multiple schools having done it this weekend when I've never seen it before Friday night.

No Oklahoma State is credited with starting it but Hokies may have done it best so far. ESPN even included a blurb about it in this week's Superlatives article.
All of the teams that had done it lost before the Hokies.

Shirtless section spotlight of the week: Virginia Tech
If you're a college football team enduring a listless start to the season, there's a decent chance by now that your fans have attempted to generate a spark by going shirtless. First it was Oklahoma State's Section 321 army in Week 7. Soon after, Wisconsin students unleashed their own shirtless section in a blowout loss to Ohio State, with UCLA also getting in on the action.
While UNC and Wake Forest also hopped on the latest trend, this week's spotlight goes to Virginia Tech for a simple reason: the game's final result. Hokies fans set the tone on Friday night, with Lane Stadium's bare-chested contingent proving to be a possible good luck charm -- Virginia Tech earned a late-night win against California. The Tar Heels came close to earning their first ACC win, taking Virginia to overtime, but couldn't get the job done.

FIU is sporting some neon style uniforms that I don't hate

Tonight it's the battle of 1-6's or Battle to Not Be Eliminsted. South Alabama at Georgia State.
Been a really fun game to watch. All tied at 31 with about 5 minutes left.
As I typed that Georgia State fumbled, it was returned for TD, but penalty for blind side block was called and then it went to review where the fumble was upheld which looked to be a really bad call.

South Alabama curiously snapping the ball with like 12-15 seconds left on play clock each time. Really poor clock management.

Yeah, I always thought that penalty was a fine example of how much ncaa did not trust the refs.

Phew, was worried about my North Texas team total over at halftime

It would be quite a bit humorous if the Hoos "magical season" got derailed by losing to the Belichick trainwreck
Sooo close....
Seeing if the UCLA fired coach magic still has legs. (I do wanna see Indiana run the table, and there isn't much left before the B1G title)
Ole Miss - Oklahoma is an entertaining match so far.
This is what football should look like.
UVA is the luckiest team with the softest schedule.
They are gonna end up in the ACC title game. Just gotta hope their luck runs out then.
The more they win, the sweeter the victory in lane stadium north will be on november 29th.
Would be classic LOLUva for us to knock em out of he ACC championship game!
I will gladly scroll and post LeCheeseSpreader comments to the FAM thread if that is the case.
That would make it almost worth it.
Almost.
UVA was 1 inch away from losing to fighting Hudsons in overtime.
ESPN.com shows WF beating SMU 13-12 but gave the 'W' column to SMU on their schedule pages. haha Wonder when they'll catch it.
Bama-Usc east is a flag fest right now. Unwatchable. Effing HAS to get to better.
In other #goACC action, NCSU is getting waxed by Pitt.

Pitt has been outstanding since starting the Freshman QB Mason Heintschel.
Bama and SCar tied at 22 with two minutes to go and SCar getting the ball
"Deuces everywhere"
And Shane's boys shit the bed. Fumbled the game away and laid down on defense in final two minutes to lose 29-22.
What a collapse by the gamecocks
More evidence to not hire Shane
That felt a lot like a 2012-2015 era Frank Beamer game against a better team.
Yep allowed two TDs in final 2 1/2 minutes to turn a 22-14 lead into a 29-22 loss.
Why did the defender let Bama skate into the endzone?
Did he think he was OOB?
Did he think to save time on the clock?
What in the world?
I'm assuming he wanted to have time left to try and score. A risk, but not much more than letting them kick the fg

Have you seen Mississippi State?
Their meltdown in OT was fabulous.
Lost 45 yards or something on 4 and out.
Gave up a 38-21 lead to even get to OT.
An even uglier collapse in Starkville
Oh God, what are these Miami uniforms
Dog vomit digital camo?
I've seen it called baby poop, overripe avocado and yard mulch
Rotten avocado wins in my book.
USMC 250 year birthday tribute. ....but yeah really terrible
I really wish we had hired Mike Elko instead of Pry...
Don't we all.
I am holding out all hope that Wisconsin is held to zero points for the third week in a row
Maybe we'll hire their offensive coordinator
Might as well. They scored points in the end, my comment agreed poorly, quickly
They didn't play this week but just had the thought...Florida State could be on a 6-game losing streak when we go to Tallahassee.
Our home games vs. UL and the U are going to be big for the winning season/bowl-eligible hopefuls.
Let's spoil EVERYONE'S bowl hopes!
I've got the perfect vehicle for the team bus....

Laughing at the F$U fans clamoring for Primetime to be their coach.
Sanders dropped to 16-17 at Colorado after yesterday's 53-7 blowout loss to Utah.
First thought, what is his buyout?
Second thought, was the LSU AD somehow involved on it?
$33M on Dec 15th.

Pretty sure that's just a drunken college student thing

We can "Invent the future" and we don't even need shirts to do it!
Pretty sure I tried this line in college...
It was in full force for the Dukes 63-27 win over ODU a week ago.
