3-0 90+ FAM

A much larger blowout than I expected. Team definitely moves the ball much better as a group than even I could hope for.

And in the presser at the end does his teammate yell "Malaka" at him? Isn't that Greek for asshole? Or have my Assassins Creed Odyssey hours lied to me?

FAM FAM FAM!!

I don't know what a Hokie is, but God is one of them!

FAM! That was such a fun game to watch!

Really starting to get excited about this team.

This is exactly the kind of game we would struggle with in the past, letting the opponent hang around far too long.

This team dominated and by the 12 Minute mark or so in the 2nd Half this one was a wrap.

Funny what happens when you care about and invest into your Basketball program.

Tried a bit of Giftory Fam....added more highlights.

It definitely has the Giftory feel, and I love and appreciate it!

This morning I'm like WTF? I can't even see the gif I posted last night, so I look at the link, and am like, "Oh, of course, it's giphy," which is blocked at work. lol

"Yes I am going to have favorites. My favorites are high production and low maintenance players, coaches, and staff." - JMFF

The first lob is nuts. I guess I'm going to have to start watching these games.

Yup. This team is capable of some good stuff, but it's fun to watch them play lesser teams and ball the F out with cool passes and tons of assists to go with some damn good scoring plays in transition. If you aren't watching already, you've already missed a good chance to become familiar with our team of transfers and new faces. I suspect we'll have our tough games soon enough, and Providence was a good test passed, but how will we do in the ACC?

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

I'm thinking the Battle 4 Atlantis is going to be a lot of fun to watch with this team. That will be a good barometer for how the season is going to go.

"Yes I am going to have favorites. My favorites are high production and low maintenance players, coaches, and staff." - JMFF

Yeah, I agree with you about the Battle. Thing is, we've had teams tear it up in non-con games and still suck in the end, but this team just looks and feels different from the get go. If there's even more to be added as the players actually have a chance to play together enough to really maximize their strengths, we could be sensational.
And I know that while 3 games isn't a definitive look at the year to come, it's definitely an eye opener.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

I watched the highlight video hokiesports put up last night for the game. They look like a fun team playing team basketball. I really enjoy that style of basketball a ton more than iso heavy style of play. It for sure looks like a completely different team than last year but still CMY basketball. Probably going to have to put popcorn on the grocery list a lot more.

The speed of transition is awesome and Neo's passing is insane. As others have said this is a fun team to watch.

"We were still ass, but, you know we weren't that bad" - Tobi Lawal

Had to hop on a meeting halfway through the first half, good thing we were already up by like 15. Was able to sneak in a couple peeks. Thanks for the highlights!

This is the one I needed. Glad I don't have to make it myself, this is way better.

A good team blows out inferior competition. We haven't been that type of team in "forever/ever".

We just spanked em by 35 pts.

This team is a Swiss Army Knife. CMY has playing styles, height, ball handling, etc., in spades. This team is fast, tall, and talented.

That was probably the most relaxing game I've watched in a long time/ever.

There is also question in how inferior St. Joe's was. They are normally decent in the Atlantic 10 and this was a team coming off back to back 20 win seasons.

With four returning starters from last year.

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

Vegas had us a 10.5 point favorite and we far exceeded that. I had expected the bench to make the big difference in this one but because of foul trouble, St Joes was forced to use their bench much more heavily. Our bench outscored theirs 31-28.

Two of their starters though combined for 5 points and only one reached 10 points. One bench player led them with 14.

The Hokies had four starters and two bench players in double-digits. Hansberry led all scorers with 19 and Bedford was the only starter with less than 10. He still put up 8 points but he only played 18 minutes. All the other starters played 23 or more minutes.

Not sure if this was shared somewhere else, but here is a 20 min interview with Neo. Starts at about the 7-min mark. First 7 mins talk about ACC basketball, mostly the UNC and VT weekend game results as good outcomes for the ACC.

He reveals he has never seen the Matrix. He likes Luka's game and takes some of his best moves, but plays his own style. Overall, interesting interview and longest I've seen of Neo yet, but the hosts are meh.

The Jims doing nothing but clapping in unison is my favorite part. And Fish dropping the cup in every scene.

CLANG!

07Hokie made reference to it, but Hansberry as a legitimate rebounder and rim protector (to go with Lawal's ability to protect the rim) completely changes the dynamic for this team. Controlling the boards triggers the break, and rim protection allows the guards to more aggressively challenge the passing lanes.
