He just had his ranking bumped up and now apparently opened up his recruitment according to a 247 for UNC. Dont know the details as its behind paid walls.
Do these DBs use VT to get exposure to go to other schools? This is getting ridiculous. I know Torrian will get who we need but wtf is going in this year.

He didn't decommit. We know when he committed that he was still going to be open to other schools, so this is not a surprise.
True, but I just consider him a heavy lean and not a VT verbal. I really hope that he ends up with the good guys.
He and his family recently celebrated his birthday at Tech decked out in VT gear, and he has attended two recent national events wearing VT gear. Sounds like he's still committed to Tech, and he stated as much to a VTScoop contributing writer yesterday.
Better get used to verbals continuing to visit other schools - that's been going on for the last few years.
Small request: when you say "per Twitter," can you at least provide a link to whose Twitter it is, if not embed the Tweet directly? I read it and thought Mook himself had said something, but his profile clearly states that he's committed to VT and I have not seen him post anything to the contrary.

"According to sources," is something that's said all the time in today's new media world. It's just as silly, but it's used.
I've harped on people here for not providing context to what they post, and to a lesser extent using appropriate thread titles. TheVTAdrian mentioned it was the 247Sports UNC website, however if he had provided a link to the tweet the context would have been much more clear.
As far as the Tweet / story itself, both the UNC 247Sports website (@CarolinaBlue247) and another 247Sports recruitnik (@TomLoy247) signed off and retweeted it. TheVTAdrian took what was said from a supposedly credible outlet, "opens up his recruitment," at face value. If he had included the original Tweet, there'd probably be less vitriol in this thread, but at least some sort of an effort was made.
From my perspective a few things are relevant here: 1) I haven't talked Mook (so I don't know anything about his situation), 2) verbal commitments are non-binding, 3) 247Sports has an agenda (to make money). Based on what I read here, if I had to make a guess on what happened the UNC website took something Mook said out of context in order to drum up pageviews.
To me it makes 247Sports look silly if two of their websites are contradicting each other. But at the end of the day it's good for business if the 247Sports UNC website puts out a story, then their VT website denies it (DOUBLE THE PAGEVIEWS, BOOM).
Mark and I go to great lengths to accurately quote the recruits we talk to within the correct context. We publish everything for free in part for transparency's sake, and to lessen our agenda. TKP doesn't bait readers to subscribe with catchy headlines. Even if we were to sell something, it would be our analysis, not the stories of 16-, 17-, and 18-year-olds. Honestly, it's annoying to have a poorly handled story from 247Sports spill over here, because to me it seems like the best answer would come from the original reporter.
Please change your headline - Mook is still 100% committed to Tech.
Kids visit other schools all the time - even after they commit to a school. This is not a new practice.

I saw some anus from UNC tweet him on Friday evening and it said "we need u at UNC" then it had a bunch of silly hash tags. I looked on Mooks bio and at that point it still said Tech commit.
So I tweeted the UNC guy and barbed him for it, Mook then retweeted it.
Who knows and who cares. Apparently I do.

It didn't help that we had that POS Newsome talking shit about VT after he got canned. I still don't know how that guy lasted at VT as long as he did. Talk about collecting a pay check for doing basically nothing but recruiting 'Rod.
