Still feels surreal to land this level of a HC and proven elite recruiter. Now time to have fun with more speculation.... Who do we see him hiring as OC & DC?

Well, Nathan Gray thinks.....
Yeah, sounds good to me
I just would struggle to see Pry coming back in a high-level staff role this soon. I could see an analyst or off field support role, but what if he comes back as DC this year and the defense struggles? That's going to create some issues.
But I mean on the other hand, he comes back as DC and he's experienced. And the amount you pay him offsets the buyout, so you have more cash then to hire an OC/other position coaches. It is certainly intriguing.
He may have discovered he is not only better as a DC than as an HC, but that he enjoys that level of responsibility more. If that is the case, and he is looking more to remain a DC instead of being a big whistle again, I can see him wanting to stay here, not relocate, and be with his long time friend/coach. He had good defenses at Pedo, so should be able to do that here once we get the athletes to athlete.
If we hire Rahne I hope he somehow finds himself stuck in an elevator on his first day.
My NFL team is the Broncos. After a slight hiccup that had me joking that 'if I had a nickel for every time I've called for Vance Joseph to be fired, I'd only have a dime, but it's weird that I've had to ask twice,' bringing back the failed head coach as a defensive coordinator seems like it only ever works out. So I'm on board with it.
I would love Pry. Dude has put together a lot of top 10 defenses and has really never put together a bad defense (as DC). Might be awkward with some guys on the roster but there is going to be a lot of new players coming in. Plus, why not do something nobody else has ever done... we have over a decade of evidence that he shows he is a top defensive coordinator. U
So would Pry get his buyout and a DC salary? 😅
For the older folks...well I asked EF Hutton and EF hutton said..."

Richard Johnson on split zone duo pretty heavily implied that we could have an offensive coordinator already signed by the end of the weekend (if not by game time) once their season "in Akron Ohio" has wrapped up. Not sure if he's just guessing because of past relationships or if he's strongly hinting at an agreement between Franklin and Joe Moorhead.
This could be great or not.
Moorhead was wildly successful as OC at PSU and was part of their only big ten championship recently.
But he also had trace mcsorely, saquon Barkley, and a decent receiving corps. He left when those guys left.
After that he was unsuccessful at Mississippi State and Oregon, now ending a losing season at Akron
I'm not hanging my hat on his two good years at Penn State being indicative if his regular production.
Akron is one of the most difficult FBS jobs in the country. He's done an admirable job there.
Mississippi State was 15th overall in SP+ in 2018 (couldn't find ranking for offense) and had the 36th ranked offense in 2018.
Oregon's offense was 17th in SP+ in 2020 and the 22nd ranked offense in 2021.
I don't think that those stints count as unsuccessful. The offenses were pretty strong at both locations.
From 2022 to this year Akron's offense has ranked: 116th, 132nd, 129th, and 127th.
It seems like when he has P5 talent, he can produce a good offense. I'm not sure if any of the Akron years provide much information given how bad that program almost always is.
If we have an offense that is ranked anywhere above #25, I'll be happy. And I don't mean one that sputters for large portions of the game and then has a few big plays. I mean a legitimately consistent offense in that can be in the top 25. I know this is a tall ask in Blacksburg!!
In what world was Moorhead unsuccessful at Oregon?!
I would like the OC from ODU. It's his system, different from Rahne's.
Don't we have this thread already
We do indeed! What, is my thread not good enough for everyone? Is it because I lurk too much?
Appreciate you contributing to the community here. we also don't need two threads for the same discussion. Doesn't have anything to do with lurking or activity, just the other one was first
Edit: you made the other one 🤦♂️ locking this one up anyhow
