Glad to see you are gonna suit up for VT, looking forward to seeing you serve up some pancakes.

Franklin built Penn State on the lines. We can expect the same here.

It's about damn time.

I am taking from the number of OL Franklin is signing that he sees very little that he likes of our current OL personnel.

I would be surprised to see more than a couple of the current OL Room back next year. That doesn't disappoint me.

I see what you're saying but I disagree simply based on numbers. PSU has 25 OL on its listed roster, so I assume that Andy Frank will try to get to a similar number. VT currently has 16 OL on its roster, 3 of which have expired their eligibility. Presuming Trautwein is hired and Moore takes another job, of the 13 that is left, a couple will likely follow Moore (Altuner, Austin, Crawford?), bringing the number down to 10 or so. VT currently has 6 OL commits, 3 of which committed to Moore. VT is trending for about 2-3 more OL recruits. Let's be optimistic and say VT gets 8 OL recruits. That's 18 OL on the roster without portal acquisitions (8 of which would be true freshman). As we know, building out the OL via the portal is hard. To reach 25, Franklin and Frank would need to pluck 7 out of the portal, which is very optimistic. Releasing several the current VT OL to portal in more than 7 seems difficult and unwise.

So, I think Franklin and Frank will try and keep as much of the current VT OL possible.

There are 105 spots, you can take a spot for 5 years so that's ~21 spots a year. Which means you're taking almost a whole team in each class which is 5 OL each year and 25 total.

I'm with Chazz here. You don't bring in any freshman OL in to replace the current line starting the next season (unless your name is Kaden Proctor). Our OL room is still fairly young. On Saturday we started two RS-Fr and one RS-So. OL take longer to develop than other positions, you want an older experienced group.

You bring in a large OL class because you want to emphasize the lines of scrimmage and because not all recruits hit you give yourself a better chance of finding 5 good guys plus a little depth. I would expect large OL classes every year and wouldn't take that as any type of reaction to the previous years line or the makeup of the OL room.

They might keep the guys for bodies but we better pray the guys being brought in are more talented and capable of playing right away. Our line was not good this year, I don't care what some fancy stats say, the unit as a whole couldn't keep Drones clean, and got absolutely wrecked by the likes of UVa

Franklin is getting some big boys in the boat early. Love to see it

Instead of reliving the exploratory rectal surgery we all had yesterday, I am digging into the Hokies offensive line recruits for film study. The Hokies now have six offensive linemen committed, but as a teaser, right now I kind of like two of the three kids that Matt Moore had already received commitments from. Hopefully Franklin can them them on.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

That is much more interesting. I imagine much better for your mental health as well.

It will be interesting to see how the coaching changes affects the O-line. According to "Kolby's Corner," Trautwein will be hired and Moore will be looking for work elsewhere (but I guess we'll see in the upcoming week whether that is true). Hopefully, VT can retain some of the core that has potential, add the 6 or so this signing class, and then portal enough starters to yield a decent line in year 1.

A Neal Brown offense and retaining Moore would be fun

OL film study sounds like a better use of your time. Yesterday's dumpster fire was already last season. Better days ahead.

I found TKP after two rails from TOTS then walking back to my apartment and re-watching the 2012 Sugar Bowl. I woke up the next day with this username.

At this rate our team is going to have to charter a C-5 Galaxy just for the OLine.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Should give some of our AF ROTC grads some more of their required flight time

Flew home from the desert once in a C-5. Funny fact, hard to climb the ladder to the passenger seating (seats also face backward, which was different) hammered on German beer. Way better than the C-141 trip over in jump seats.

Odd trivia tidbit-while I have never ridden in one, as a kid, I did get to see the first C5 in the European theater back around 1970 or so. Watching the landing approach, it seems like it's just crawling through the sky in slow motion....

From the 2018 VT-uva game-"This is when LEGENDS are made!"

They are not a fun ride for passengers. The passenger compartment is backwards so you are facing the tail of the plane in your seat. Makes it really uncomfortable on takeoff and landing due to the physics on your body.

Wasn't terrible. Especially drunk on Bitburger beer. Plus we were on our way home. At that point I would've ridden on whatever brother.

At least you have room to move about. My son is a B-1 pilot and is 6'4". His longest flight is 23 hours. Not much room to stretch out.

Life is good.

If our entire class is OL that's fine by me.

An above average P4 QB please.

I would just "lose" that ball in a drawer for a few years

Edit: or maybe forever. How many Boomers/Xers are still saying "not!"

I do art stuff.

Unfortunately they have gone digital so its a program that runs an auto draw.

The future sucks. Half the fun of bingo is the ball roller.

Is 67 going to be the new 69 in regards to desired OL numbers?

Chopped, Huz.

After Googling these terms....

In modern internet slang, particularly among Gen Z and Gen Alpha, to be "chopped" means to be considered ugly or very unattractive. It is generally seen as a harsher insult than calling someone "mid" (average-looking).

Basically, 'huzz' is a replacement for hoes,"

...I still don't know what you mean by that. /shrug

That's it. I'm going to turn off the power to my entire house and read an actual book (with real pages) by candlelight. I need a "future detox".

My 15-yr old played football for the first time this year (6'3" and started at LT...humble brag). Said everyone's fighting for 67.
