As they say in Baltimore: way to go, Huhn!

We put the K in Kwality

Was curious how Huhn and Bergeron's ratings stack up:

Huhn
247 - 3 start - 89. #21 QB
247 Composite - 4 star - 0.9047 - #21 QB
On3 - 4 star- 89.54 - #24 QB

Bergeron
247 - 4 star - 90 - #20 QB
247 Composite - 3 star - 0.8833 - #34 QB
On 3 - 3 star - 87.77 - #40 QB

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

thank you for digging this up. Services with mixed ranking between the two. But a nice bump in 247comp

on3 is basically Rivals right?

On3 is basically what 247 used to be

Our female Hokie fans are about to be like, "Check out my new football team. It has pockets!"

I do art stuff.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Have you seen our new offensive line recruits? We just might have a pocket!

"Yes I am going to have favorites. My favorites are high production and low maintenance players, coaches, and staff." - JMFF

Can you imagine? What if we end up having the first OL to ever provide TWO pockets?!

I'm not greedy. I'll settle for one.

Lol. Yeah, I'd love to just have one

Onward and upward

As long as it's a 'men's size" pocket , not a tiny one like the pockets on 'ladies jeans'...

From the 2018 VT-uva game-"This is when LEGENDS are made!"

If our offense doesn't have pockets, lets at least hope it has a front pouch

That was a bizarre analogy in the Jags game yesterday lol

I'm curious and haven't seen much commentary about it - If we already had Bergeron committed and is arguably a slightly better rated QB, why did we pursue Huhn at the risk (and now reality) of losing Bergeron? Is he better at any particular QB skill? Or is he a former Franklin target and he just has more familiarity with him?

Huhn was committed to PSU with Franklin. I think on composite the Huhn is slightly higher than Bergeron still.

I haven't watched the tape, but based on the rankings alone they seem fairly similarly ranked. Maybe in simply came down to the fact that Franklin already had a relationship with Huhn and liked him better.

Is coronavirus over yet?

ESPN has Huhn as the no. 10 pocket passer and Bergeron as no. 34.

It would be nice to have a passing game again.

It would be nice to have a pocket again.

It would be pocket to nice again game passing.

This is all on the coaching change. I'm sure Franklin probably tried to keep him, or maybe not, maybe he just told him he did not have any plans for him.

Franklin could have liked Huhn better, or Bergeron may not like Franklin...who knows.

It does seem surprising to have a guy leave with such a massive upgrade at the HC position but *shrug*

Suspect we will see a lot of players / commits leaving

Is it possible that most teams can't afford the requisite NIL to support more than one heir apparent QB? Not really sure how that sort of thing shakes out.

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

Does this mean that we might actually have an actual quarterback at QB (i.e., not a tight end or 'athlete')? And we might actually have an offensive line that can block? Maybe we should get an actual QB coach while we're at it. Haven't had a decent one of those in decades. This is just such a strange feeling these days.

Aaaaand now I have to go listen to hybrid theory and reanimation back to back

Trying to understand how #27 player in Cali with offers from nearly every big boy program is a 3 star.

https://www.espn.co.uk/college-sports/recruiting/football/story/_/id/471...

Huhn, No. 178 in the SC Next 300, competed in the Elite 11 Finals in June and projects as a prototypical, big-armed pocket passer at the next level. He completed 75% of his passes for 2,438 yards and 29 touchdowns and added eight rushing scores in his senior season at California's Mission Hills High School.

'Its easy to grin, when your ship comes in, and you've got the stock market beat,
but the man worthwhile, is the man who can smile, when his shorts are too tight in the seat'

But he is a 4-star, not a 3-star

He is a three star as rated by 247, he is a four star in their composite ranking.

I don't know which is more reputable, but if you go to the 247 website, they list three stars next to his name.

I've always defaulted to composite since it's the multiple sources balancing each other out

Sorry, lost the link.

On3 describes QB Huhn as a smooth prototypical West Coast pocket passer with a big arm who's coming off a strong senior year. He led Mission Hills to a 9-2 record and a San Diego Open Division semi-final appearance before losing to eventual champion Cathedral Catholic 42-25.
The Elite 11 signal caller has a prototype 6-4 frame with plenty of room to add good weight and he made a lot of positive strides over the last year.
He processes the game well, gets the ball out quick and shows under-rated pocket presence and mobility. He throws an accurate deep ball, changex speeds and has a good understanding of how to play the position.
He dramatically improved his completion percentage and touchdown/interception ratio as a senior as well as his poise and toughness. He's a natural leader and looks to be trending in the right direction.

I wonder if Peyton Falzone would be on the table as well. He had committed to VT, then flipped to Penn State, then flipped to Auburn, and has now reopened his commitment.

804

I forget which ranking site it was but they had Bergeron, Huhn and Falzone in numeric order in terms of QBs. They were like 20, 21, 22 in the rating.

Living in SD, I regret that VT was not in on this guy until his season was over. Would have tried to make a game or 2 during the season.

Huhn is the 2nd SD county QB recruit to end up in Blacksburg, first recruit directly out of HS. My hope is he ends up having a better career in a VT uniform than Burmeister.
