LaMar Morgan is currently their DB/Pass Game Coordinator, worked as a GA with Franklin & Pry at Vandy.
Some great VA recruits committed to Michigan that we're back in the game for.

Yeah, you can't be doing the hibbity-dibbity with your staff members. Maybe Hiter will come home now.
Actually back in the game for or wishful thinking? Was wondering myself if this meant those newly signed guys can rethink things. Who else from VA may want to come back home?
They should have an immediate portal period because of the coaching change right? Can never remember if it's when a coach is fired or a new one hired (think this changed this year)
I think that must be for current players. I searched on it and says NLI is with school, not the coach. When the coach is dismissed though, it allows them to ask to be granted a release, but don't think it's automatically granted.
No, the rule was changed and at the conclusion of the regular season it took effect. Players have to wait until 5 days after the new coach is announced to enter the portal but its not clear if naming an interim coach counts.
That's for the portal, which is for current students. We're talking about recruits who have NLIs signed but aren't students yet.
Since Moore has been fired, the have the ability to be released from their commitment if they so desired (since they've only signed their commitment and have not enrolled yet).
You're mixing up things. You don't "sign" a commitment. You sign a National Letter of Intent, which is called "signing" and is essentially a contract. Enrollment doesn't have anything to do with it, other than it would be a release from the NLI before enrollment. After enrollment , it would be entering the transfer portal.
Edit: if you are just committed, it is MUCH easier to get out of that, regardless of whether a coach has been fired or not.
And for the record, the 3 players in the top ten in VA have all signed NLIs with Michigan, so all signed, and none just committed.
National Letter of Intent is no longer correct either. They sign a Written Offer of Financial Aid. Its unclear if a player can go into the portal during the first year after signing this based on a coach being fired.
I searched on it and it said the rule changed I think in 2024, that allows them to get out of it. I'll do some more research, but I had looked it up before I posted.
Looks like the transition from NLI may happen after this year. This article from ESPN still refers to NLI but also discusses transition away from NLI, but doesn't give a timeframe for it. Regardless, it says that for players who signed during ESD are granted their release without penalty if the coach leaves after ESD (bottom of 4th paragraph about being able to commit/decommit after national signing day).
Oooh I like where this is going
It doesn't look like Michigan will be fighting with players looking to get released from the letters of intent.
Matt Ludwig released from NLI
Three of the top ten recruits for 2026. I wonder how much we'd really be in the mix for any of them.
I wonder if the finding and firing happening after the early signing period is coincidental (I'm guessing not). Athletes apparently can get out of NLIs for a coaching change, but apparently have to ask for it.
Franklin is a hell of a recruiter but Michigan is one of the small handful of schools where kids are committing to the school, not the coach. I wouldn't bank on a mass exodus happening because Moore got fired.
I agree
Regardless of committing to the school, it is VERY late in the recruiting window. Kids may want to jump ship if they don't know who the coach would be. It's one thing if you like the school and get to meet with a new coach, it's another to walk blindly into whatever the new coaching situation might be and forfeit your ability to find a place you'd rather be.
Well, ya don't know unless ya try, right?
Didn't we lose Hamilton to them?
Anyway, after all our misfortunes over the past however many years, I'm kind of expecting us to get Manny Diaz'd here. Someone tell me why I shouldn't worry.
Franklin was saving money with the staff hires to make sure there was room to give himself a raise when something like this pops up
/s
Well, at least we'll be getting paid a buyout if Franklin leaves for Michigan, right?
It wouldn't be worth it this late in the game. Do you think Michigan thinks Franklin is worthy enough for them? The real question will be how big of a fish will Mich land and from where? I think we are safe enough from having our guy poached by the second domino and the first domino jobs don't deem him good enough. No need to worry.
Early candidates are DeBoer, Chargers DC Jesse Minter, Jedd Fisch from UW and Manny Diaz. You also still have BIKAKK out there.
I don't think Michigan has any interest in hiring a head coach who was fired from his previous job because he couldn't beat Ohio State
Michigans main concern is beating Ohio St. franklins reputation alone disqualifies him from the job.
Moore recently arrested for breaking into her place... This shit is crazy.
Like recently as in before signing day? If it's discovered that Mich delayed the firing until after signing day, the NCAA should grant a transfer waiver to the incoming class.
I was curious about this timing too. If so all those financial agreements should be void
There are posts going back to december 1 on twitter about it
Adding source
That is why you don't dip your pen in the company ink.

Immediate reports they're going after Deboer...Kiffin to Bama...dominoes!
That would be hilarious! I'd love to see it!!
Just a PSA:
With all of the wide-ranging rumors associated with this story people might want to pump the brakes on posting speculation and jokes about Moore's situation until the dust has settled.
Speculation about Michigan hires and portal targets seems fair game though.
Updated press release from the Pittsfield PD. "Alleged assault". I only use the quotations as it's from the report and is verbatim for those that might not be able to see the tweeters.
So....is this eligible for the Fulmer Cup? Or is it technically not the offseason yet?
Oooooh boy if this is true.....
It's starting to sound like his imminent firing was known for a while but they waited til after Signing Day to not ruin their class. Which, I mean starts to echo what happened at Penn St with he coverup to purely benefit the football program.
I'd be careful with Pate. He puts out a lot of stuff vaguely and then claims credit if it happens. With this specifically, I do remember him saying keep an eye on Michigan but he framed it as if Moore went 7-5 and lost to Ohio State, not that there was something else going on. He threw Lincoln Riley and Brian Kelly out there was well, a miss and a hit but it was vague enough that no one remembers the miss but he can claim the hit
I've seen a bunch of people pulling tweeter receipts from people accusing him from before nsd
Until thing are further known, I will give Michigan the benefit of doubt, while they may have known what happen (probably knew some of it) they had to conduct an investigation and do their due diligence before firing some one for cause, especially when the money amount is big enough to fight for with top notch lawyers.
Yeah I don't disagree but the optics are going to look poor with tweets as far back as mid November
Man there are reporters around saying this was openly talked about within the team as far back as over the summer. "Worst kept secret of the year" kind of thing
It all boiled over when he was arrested.
he was arrested AFTER he was fired though....
I took it to mean that the investigation into the inappropriate relationship with a staffer has ongoing for a while, and is a poor secret. Once he was fired, he crashed out and was arrested, but that doesn't change the fact that it was known that he was under investigation for a while, and that investigation just *happened* to conclude after signing day.
I was responding specifically to this. I'd argue it boiled over when he was fired
Ah, I got you.
Are you sure about that? The arrest statement above show 4:10 pm. The new of his firing broke about 4:50 pm.
The optics, to me, look like the university was forced to pull the trigger on his firing because the news would break of his arrest soon after.
Also, the internal investigation has been going on for quite awhile (I live in the area).
I could certainly be wrong
I think he was fired before it was published. Firing led to a crash out where he went to his mistress's apartment and broke in and held a knife to her, got arrested, and then news broke. All within 2 hours.
After rereading the release, the incident happened at 4:10pm, so he was very likely fired a few hours before that if the news of his firing broke at 5pm. The incident may have pushed up the timeline for the announcement.
What I can gather that's being reported allegedly investigation over the summer they both denied any relationship. Yesterday AM the staffer went to the school with all the evidence of the relationship and came clean. AD then fired Sherrone. Then he went to the staffers house. He was arrested after that.
No way. It's not like Michigan and their football program would ever do anything shady. Or that they would keep a coach around who was doing improper things just so that they could win football games. Oh no, never.
"Michigan Man"
....
Master class on how to crash out
So who do they hire? There aren't any G5 coaches left that they would hire. Every other top P4 coach just extended or were hired by a new school. Does Deboer feel the heat if they don't win or get to the championship game this year? Is Tomlin available and would they go there. I don't think there is another coordinator in the country they would be comfortable hiring. Does Dabo think about it?
how funny would it be if they hired Matt Campbell?....
I'm kind of hoping for Deboer and Kiffin "Temples" LSU
I mean, I hate LSU (along with most of the rest of the SEC) but I hate Penn State more for some reason. Any eventuality where Penn State gets "Temple-ed" would be ideal in my book
If getting Templed in this case means following the trajectory of Temple football, I'm all for it
Manny Diaz spent 17 days as Temples head coach before Miami hired him to be their head coach.
I know I was giving it a different meaning.
Smoking crater of a program in Pennsylvania
Maybe because they had a child molestor using their facilities, it was reported to the hall-of-fame coach, who did as little as absolutely possible with that, and none of the alumni fan base had any problem with him doing next to nothing.
What really frustrates me is that a large portion of that fanbase still openly venerate the man and take great offense to any suggestion that his legacy is heavily tarnished.
I mean that's definitely why I hate Penn State more
Oh and just to make it worse their fan/alumni base has rallied around a PR push that the actual victim of the whole thing was the coach who covered up the rape of children in team facilities, with their interim coach last month feeding into it.
I know the reason! (and you're right). That part of my post was sarcastica
Sorry, my sarcasmo-meter has been on the fritz 😂
Best case, Deboer to Mich, Kiff to Bama, Ole Miss wins natty, LSU still has to pay Kiff 1mil bonus. lol
That's a beautiful thought
Campbell is probably hitting himself for jumping at the PSU job too soon
Not much stopping him from taking the Michigan job if they come calling, and probably easier to get kids to go from ISU to Mich than ISU to PSU
Yeah, someone pointed out that Manny Diaz was the coach for 17 days at Temple before Miami came calling. It happens.
Temple to Miami is very very different than PSU to Michigan.
Diaz was also Miami DC to Temple HC to Miami HC in that small window
That doesn't mean it can't happen. It means it would be much funnier.
(Unfortunately less likely, but....)
Very true. Both fanbases are insufferable in my opinion. Which is why I'd like to see them get in a bidding war over.... Brad Cornelson. I know PSU already has Campbell, but you can't ruin that little fantasy of mine.
That would depend if he signed a clause that would require him to pay a penalty to leave the contract early. I don't know if it is in there, but for instance, Deboer has to pay Bama $4M to take a job in 2025.
If it is in there, it depends on whether the UMich is willing to compensate for such penalty.
And notably, if it is in there, and if UM pays it, it opens the door for PSU to pay for Deboer.
Tim Marbaugh
"BY GAW, THAT'S JUSTIN FUENTE'S MUSIC!"
Moore is expected to be arraigned tomorrow afternoon per ESPN. I saw the headline on WaPo first, but don't have access to behind the paywall for the full story.
It was a catch
Danny Coale is always presiding.
Hear fucking hear
Looks like I need to inform my Michigan alum girlfriend that they need a new coach.
Updated:
Her comment: "I didn't even know we had a head football coach."
Oof. Michigan is going to be paying him a big check for this.
Wonder if they're setting up to can Manuel too.
Oh, absolutely.
Don't hold your breath
ScUMmy
And again, this had been known in the athletic department since at least August. They chose to do this when they did
You know, "for the students".
A big check for what? The guy was fired with cause, rightfully so.
If my understanding of Michigan law is accurate, the state has pretty strong protections for employees with mental health issues, particularly in when it comes to the termination of employment as a result of any behavior or action taken by the employee as a result of their mental illness, if the employer has been notified, in advance, that the action/behavior that had led to the firing was tied in some way to the mental illness.
I imagine it would be difficult to defend impregnating a subordinate as a behavior resulting from mental illness. But I'm no professional on the matter.
"The smoke show was driving me crazy!" Sherron Moore, allegedly.
I think common sense would say impregnating a subordinate is clear evidence of mental illness.
Poor judgement is absolutely not the same thing as mental illness. Do not conflate the two.
I was being a bit flippant, but it's hard to view this specific situation and not consider his actions as wanton disregard for consequences. Rather common trait in BPD.
I will admit, I do take a harsher view on this than if he had got caught banging the volleyball coach. Senior-subordinate adds an element of abuse of power.
The guy had the Plan-B delivered to the athletic Facility where he tried to give it to her. The guy is an utter scumbag, and is hiding behind "mental illness" as a cover for his crash out and destroying his reputation, life, and family with his terrible decisions. .
Compulsive sexual behavior is known to be a prevalent symptom for individuals with borderline personality disorder.
In the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) , it can be determined by:
- Persistent pattern of failure to control intense, repetitive sexual impulses or urges resulting in repetitive sexual behavior
- pattern of failure to control impulses or urges, resulting in repetitive behavior manifested over an extended period of time
- causes marked distress or significant impairment in personal, family, social, educational, occupations, or other areas of functioning
But the mental illness stuff could be somewhat unrelated or result of the relationship, and as you said, mental illness is protected regardless of what you're fired for.
Not condoning, nor excusing, just offering a potential explanation that could land Michigan in trouble if some very specific criteria are met.
I know, I'm just joking around. But as someone who reviews medical records including mental health records daily, unless he has an established and somewhat lengthy history of symptoms and treatment, I can't see "mental health" being a viable defense towards receiving an unlawful termination.
I obviously don't know the facts of the situation, but my money is on the dime a dozen power tripping horny guy banging hot assistant who freaks out when his post nut clarity hits revealing he's lost just about everything.
Good ol' post nut clarity.
If he had taken the Dupont approach none of this would have happened
Hold on a second. How many cases of cheating have been reported amongst college football coaches. Like HUNDREDS. We can't go labelling any time someone cheats and gets found out "compulsive sexual behavior."
Also don't tell me that people with clever attorneys don't advise them to cop to some type of mental illness because it IS protected. Just because they claim it doesn't make it so, and then he has to PROVE he has a history of that, which I'm sure would play well with the wife with third kid on the way.
I'm going to go ahead and say my belief level in this is: skeptical (at best, guessing it's a flat out lie to try to protect himself).
Edit: plus, if you do have a mental illness, the time to disclose that is during the investigation, not AFTER you are fired and try breaking into someone's house. Upon further reflection, I'm upgrading my level of belief to: calling BS.
The above tweet literally says that the athletic department had been made aware of his mental health issues prior to getting fired.
Yeah, but mental health issues are not necessarily the same as compulsive sexual behavior. It doesn't say what his issues are. It could be any of a number of things. I was responding more directly to the previous post that had a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder (which, my guess was just hand-picking something that would explain him having an inappropriate sexual relationship because of compulsive sexual behavior). But don't know, without a diagnosis, whether that's even a symptom, so you can't just choose a diagnosis to explain wrongdoing without knowing if what he did is even a symptom of what he's got. Sorry, it's not how it works. And if someone DID disclose a diagnosis without his consent, that's grounds for being fired and heavy lawsuits.
But I did somehow miss that original tweet. So I do feel pretty dumb about that. Or I forgot - my brain has been randomly functioning and then not for a couple weeks.
Edit: also, stress can be considered a mental health "issue", but is not a diagnosis for a disease and would therefore not protect anyone. Saying "mental health issue" is INCREDIBLY vague. For instance, I was able to get incompletes in a couple classes at Tech because of stress (job stuff with my dad and a really bad injury to my mom), but that wasn't about to get me out of if I did anything wrong.
It wasn't a diagnosis, just stating that some mental issues, including bpd, can have that as a symptom.
Fair, but without knowing what his issue is, might as well just say there are a number of conditions that have compulsive sexual behavior as a symptom rather than listing a particular one. And by making that argument, it sounds like offering a justification, without even knowing if that's a symptom of whatever he has, so he might not have a justification other than poor decision making, or making his decisions with his little head.
by "bpd" are you referring to bi-polar disorder or Borderline Personality Disorder?
Sorry, whichever one was referenced above
Well I take back my above statement
Warde Manuel needs to be smacked with the strongest show cause ever issued.
Every time I see another tweet about this, my reaction is to say i didn't know rock bottom had a basement
butter knives and scissors??? some kind of special coaches seppuku?
Is it wrong that I envisioned him waving around a uva helmet?
No, as that's sort of how they described it.
As soon as he got out of jail, he texted one of the girls he followed on OnlyFans. This story just keeps getting stranger and stranger.
The more things come out the more it sounds like Harbaugh might have employed the most corrupt coaching staff in recent history
It could be completely accidental. Harbaugh's kind of a weird dude and I think it's possible that there are some social cues or red flags that he just doesn't pick up on.
What's weird about a multimillionaire HC sleeping on the floor of a teenage boy's room in attempt to gain his commitment?
btw, out of curiosity, did that recruit commit to Michigan?
Apparently, yes
https://www.si.com/college/2016/02/03/kicker-quinn-nordin-commits-michigan-jim-harbaugh
Wore cleats inside another ones house i think
Depends on what you consider "recent," but Art Briles, Hugh Freeze, and Urban Meyer would like a word.
Good thing he turned on disappearing messages. That could've been bad!
If I was trying to build up a mental illness case, this is the kind of thing I would do. Otherwise this is typical "rules for thee, not for me" kind of mentally that seems to run among sports stars.
Hard to tell if 100% a marketing stunt or true and now she marketing her OF. Either way, the girl getting rich.
Sure it will find nothing but maybe the AD isn't safe yet
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47294863/michigan-begin...
The AD shouldn't be safe, he has some insane scandals under his watch. He should have been gone years ago
EDIT:
He should have been gone for not firing Juwan Howard who has punched multiple people while on the job.
There was also the hockey coach who was falsifying medical records and was fired manly because upon investigation he was harassing female staffers
The OC that was trying to us the computers to access female staffers medical records and since has been federal indicted earlier this year.
A football staffer was fired after setting up a date with a 13 year old girl.
The firing of Bo Schembauchlers son due to his social media usage (not so great stuff)
Atheist?
I don't know what that was
So the kids that committed to playing for this headcase and still haven't de-committed are totally in it for the bag right? I really expected more players to be finding their way out by now.
They might be waiting to see who the new coach is, but the money is a factor. If you believe the rumors we outbid Michigan for one of the VA guys, so it's not all about the money.
Michigan is one of those schools that recruits the school more than the coach
Michigan football is money, no matter how you slice it.
Another turn in the Michigan saga
Article Here
Michigan WR Anthony Simpson claimed this. Its since been deleted but damn.
maybe it's just me, but whining and airing dirty laundry isn't a good look...that sort of behavior would steer me clear of Simpson, personally.
I dont know, if people aired dirty laundry more then maybe Moore gets fired a while ago and it doesn't get to the point it got to.
Smells like "I wasn't good enough to see the field, but it must've been somebody else's fault" to me.
