Mansoor Delane First Team AP, Walter Camp and ON3 All American

Man...seeing that news and knowing he will likely be a first round pick this year just hits you with the What might have been...and the What the Hell was Cheetah doing?

Delane also was a finalist for the Thorpe and semifinalist for the Bednarik award.

I remember saying how I wished he would have just gone pro instead of transferring, but now it appears that he made the right choice. He was probably a 2nd rounder if he left last year, and now he projects closer to a surefire 1st rounder.

Good for him, and I wish him all the best. I hope on Sunday Night Football he mentions VT at least once.

Glad he had such a great season. While I wish he could have done that at VT, I'm glad to see him have success!

By the way, today is his birthday. Happy Birthday, Mansoor!

From his freshman season I never expected him to play for us in 2025, so I'm not too mad. Happy for him for sure.

These awards go out to all the TKPers saying he sucked and it wasn't a loss when he left. Should go pull receipts.

In terms of what Cheetah was doing, I got the feeling that we'd been doing something for awhile, that we expected the good players to do things differently than they normally would to make up for weaker defenders. Like being slightly out of place so they could partially cover another man's zone, and other similar things. I could be wrong, but it's hard for the really good players to shine like they are able if they have to play like that. Moving to a school that has capable defenders at every spot would allow him to shine in the one role he should have.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the sense I had for awhile, that some of our best players were having to essentially cover for some really weak players.

Between Cheetah and Priloeau it never seemed like there was any cohesion in the Secondary.

Hard to know who was more to blame or both equally.

Delane made the right decision for himself and while it stung, I can't blame him for it. Any good play of his would have been lost among the utter mess that was this year's Defense.

This - Delane was compensating for other guys out of position all the time.

Congratulations young man. I hate this happened while he wore LSU gear, but it looks like it worked out better for him in the long run. Hard to fault one there.

We have to be able to develop and retain talent like this moving forward. The fact that we even had a chance to do so in our previous iteration gives me hope moving forward.

Seeing the stat where he only gave up 147 yards passing all season and my first thought is we had guys give that much up in a single game.

I think Delane himself probably gave up that many yards at Vanderbilt last year. That's an insane stat for an entire season.

A lot of that was Delane playing the scheme right and the middle safety being MIA.

Now Duke... woof.

Delane had a great season, but now has been part of locker rooms that have caused two coaches to be fired. Can't be left out.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

This guy killed a Brian Kelly?

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

I have some hardness in my heart about Delane and his effort in his final season for us. Scheme matters, but there were so many plays that he phoned in.

Go Hokies!

It's not his fault he was the only guy on LSU playing high level defense

No wonder his brother didnt commit to us since we were clearly not utilizing him to his full potential

Had his brother play safety he wouldn't have had to play 2 positions on the field at one time

Seeing him mocked as a top 10 pick. Yeah I know it's early but that would make him "our" highest pick since DHall and 4th highest all time. Oof

Here lies It's a Stroman Jersey I Swear, surpassed in life by no one because he intercepted it.
