Hard to break down all the aspects of this challenge in a summary.
Wrestler started college classes in Cuba in 2017 so NCAA has asserted that his eligibility was up in 2023. Seems very similar to Pavia JUCO challenge in that the lawyers are arguing his eligibility should not have started until he was attending an NCAA Division 1 school. They are also asserting anti-trust violations in restricting his eligibility at all since they have no anti-trust exception.

He graduated highschool in 2016 and then attended college in Cuba. This clown just wants to get paid by Iowa State.
I don't disagree. I think the important piece of this is the antitrust exception challenge as that's something that has been looming over the NCAA for a long time. If it's successful here, basically could see the end of eligibility rules at all.
I find this terribly distressing. College football is on a steady climb away from what made it so awesome. I'm all for NIL, but pay for play and unlimited eligibility will make CFB nothing more than a minor league for the NFL. It used to be so much more than that IMO. We will never see the likes of Sam MF Rogers again.
2027: "This latest court ruling forces the removal of the word amateur from all college athletics. In response, Phillip Rivers has come out of retirement once again and has given new optimism to the UNC faithful".
Ummm....that would be interesting to watch.
Only if Bruce Smith, Michael Vick, and Kam Chancellor and other Hokie greats can too....
Just to tell you how old he is. He wrestled Joey Dance in freestyle back in 2017
Is it possible to un-ban someone just for a single thread?
I laughed so hard at this
Diego Pavia, the sequel
Pavia's courtroom clown show may continue. Saw several articles saying he is considering suing the Heisman Trust for ethnic discrimination due to voter differential between him and Mendoza. Hard to argue ethnic discrimination when the winner was of Cuban descent.
I've learned over the years that people will argue ethnic discrimination no matter what the facts or reality are.
To bring this Discussion back. Seidel just beat this guy in the midlands final by pin. So maybe he shouldn't be wanting that college wrestling smoke🤣
Yeah but he is still getting NIL while losing. Gives him a chance to earn for 3 more years if he wins his lawsuit.
Absolutely insane. He is damn 27. Go get a job blud🤣
Most likely his next job will be in wrestling so kind of moot how he goes about it and after the NCAA ruling on some of the basketball guys I dont see how they have a leg to stand on here
27 and wants to wrestle in college? That is some degen behavior.
IMO, the NCAA is tanking so they force congress to take action.
Now this:
