It's incredible how the writer portrays Thompson as being coveted. I didn't see it as a detrimental loss when he left recently.
Best of luck to him though in the future. Too bad it's with the Buckeyes!

The kid does have a lot of potential. But I agree with buzz, he looked soft out there. Even though I hate anOSU, I wish him luck
My roomate played him at McComas and he said that the soft comment is warrented. Seems to bad because he otherwise seems like he could be a talented player if he were more aggressive.
Ain't nothin worse than a soft 7-footer.
Hate to lose him. Fantastic that we lost him. It's all about how we net out with the open slot. This is what $3M staffs are supposed to figure out.
I think Buzz knows what he's doing. He has plenty of examples he could use to show that he does. As you state, let's see what he does with that scholi.
If even half of everything I've heard about his "soft" and selfish character is true, he'll fit right in at An Ohio State University.
Good riddance. Especially now seeing this:
This is one waiver that should be denied with all the press his transfer garnered thanks to said father.
what is his father's medical condition?
I am sure they have been working to document one so he can play.
According to the Columbus Dispatch:
I have to agree with the sentiment that this would not be an appropriate use of such a waiver. Everytime I read a quote from Thompson's dad, I become less of a fan of how he's handling the situation. I wish nothing but the best for Trevor and hope he has a great career at aOSU, but I could do without dad constantly trying to play the victem card in his interviews.
Must have been a spring training injury or something since MLB shows he was out of the league by 2002.

Looks like he was still bouncing around organizations for the last couple years of his career, probably in the minors trying to get back to the big leagues (he was last with the Astros in 2004).
Baseball Reference - Ryan Thompson
Is spoiled and butt-hurt a medical condition?
For the right price, yes.
If so, our Cav neighbors to the North are very sick indeed.
they're probably so used to it that they don't feel the pain anymore
But... But.... But I thought this was because his old cotton headed ninny muggins of a coach said something not so nice about him in recruiting and then went all poopie head at him when his phone went off in the introductory meeting.
Are you trying to tell me thats NOT the case? Well I'll be a monkey's uncle.
this situation is a little crazy. What happens when the NCAA grants him the permission to play and the dad never follows through with the surgery/what not. Does the NCAA then put a 1 year suspension on the kid. I am all for the kid moving closer to be with family but the way its all turned out seems to be more an excuse. He got called soft, softer than a down comforter.
The constant tweets and retweets of the Thompson news has now made me learn how to do advance search on Twitter while looking for updates on what Buzz was up to over the weekend.
Virginia Tech basketball -Ohio -Thompson to clear out that crap.
OK, I'll bite, What was Buzz up to over the weekend?
You can start: Funny you should ask...
Funny you should ask, but nothing newsworthy came up but at least I didn't have to read about Trevor Thompson anymore.
Its also going to be a tough Twitter week with so many kids on Spring Break that are visiting colleges this week. Ton of tweets with Virginia Tech visits, etc on that front.
I wonder if he's bringing his phone with him
Oh Jeez...she doesn't do basketball too does she?!?!?
